Role Description The Project Associate (Engineer) in Coal Combustion Modelling will support research projects focused on the numerical and computational modelling of coal combustion processes. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves developing and implementing simulation models, analyzing combustion data, validating models against experimental results, and preparing technical reports and presentations. The role includes collaborating with faculty, researchers,



and other project staff to design experiments, refine modelling approaches, and contribute to publications and project documentation.

The Project

Associate will assist in maintaining modelling tools, documenting methodologies, and supporting training or demonstrations for students and project collaborators on relevant software and research methods.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis and problem-solving abilities relevant to combustion modelling.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports, presenting research outcomes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management skills to plan tasks, track progress, and coordinate research activities within timelines.
- Experience in research and training, including literature review, experimental or computational research, and mentoring or guiding students.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of combustion science, thermodynamics, and heat and mass transfer; familiarity with coal or solid fuel combustion is an advantage.
- Experience with numerical modelling and simulation tools (e.g., CFD software, scientific programming in MATLAB, Python, or similar).
- Ability to work independently in a research environment, meet project deadlines, and adapt to evolving research needs.
