About the Role

We are seeking a competent and safety-focused Production Operations Engineer to join our Operations team across the Bakrol, Karjisan and Lohar oil fields in Gujarat. The role is responsible for safely operating, monitoring and optimizing crude oil and natural gas production while maximizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining the integrity of production facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on production professional to take ownership of field operations in a dynamic onshore upstream environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Production Operations: Ensure safe and uninterrupted production of crude oil, associated gas and produced water; monitor daily well and facility performance; optimize production by analyzing operating parameters; prepare daily production plans; and achieve production targets while maintaining HSE standards.
- Facilities Scope: Operate and monitor well sites (production wells, Christmas trees, wellheads, flow wings, chokes, flowlines, manifolds, test headers); process facilities (two & three phase separators, heater treaters, IWBHs, KODs, storage tanks, oil loading/unloading, produced water handling, chemical injection); and utility systems (flare, fuel gas, fire water, diesel storage & transfer).
- Process Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates and levels; optimize separator efficiency, oil-water separation and crude quality (BS&W;); monitor gas utilization and chemical consumption; coordinate well testing and analyze production data for corrective action.
- Well Operations: Coordinate well start-up, shutdown and changeover activities; monitor well performance, flowing pressures and wellhead integrity; identify abnormal well behavior; support well intervention, workover and stimulation activities and reservoir engineering teams.
- Planning & Reporting: Prepare Daily,



Weekly and Monthly Production Reports; monitor production against budget and forecast; maintain well-wise production database, downtime and loss records, logbooks and shift records; prepare production forecasts.
- Custody Transfer & Export: Coordinate crude oil dispatch to the Custody Transfer Facility; monitor tanker loading; ensure accurate measurement, sampling, density and BS&W; analysis; reconcile production, storage and dispatch quantities with accurate stock accounting.
- Production Surveillance: Monitor field instrumentation and SCADA systems; identify process deviations; conduct routine field inspections; ensure facilities operate within limits and report abnormalities to maintenance teams.
- Safety: Comply strictly with HSE policies, PTW and JSA requirements; participate in HAZOP, HIRA and Process Safety reviews; ensure compliance with Oil Mines Regulations and DGMS; ensure protected equipment isolation; participate in emergency drills; promote safe work practices.
- Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation teams for planned and breakdown maintenance; plan shutdowns to minimize production losses; verify equipment readiness after maintenance; participate in Root Cause Analysis of production interruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain operating logbooks, shift handover reports, production dashboards, well history files, SOPs, statutory registers and incident investigation reports.
- Team & Contractor Coordination: Supervise field operators; coordinate with contractors and service providers; monitor contractor HSE compliance; support drilling, workover and well intervention teams; train and mentor production operators.
- Coordination:



Work closely with Mechanical Maintenance, E&I;, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling & Well Services, HSE, Warehouse & Logistics, Laboratory, Marketing & Custody Transfer teams and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or Production Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in production operations of upstream oil & gas facilities, oil fields, gas processing facilities or hydrocarbon production installations.
- Preference for candidates with onshore upstream oil & gas production operations experience, including well operations, production optimization, well testing, separators/heater treaters/IWBH operation, crude storage & dispatch, custody transfer, SCADA/DCS-based monitoring and production reporting & accounting.
- Knowledge of OISD Standards, Oil Mines Regulations (OMR), DGMS requirements, Permit to Work (PTW), Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulations is desirable. Skills Required
- Technical: Production and well operations; oil & gas processing; separator, heater treater and IWBH operations; crude oil stabilization; gas handling; well testing; production optimization and troubleshooting; production accounting and custody transfer; production surveillance; basic mechanical and instrumentation knowledge.
- Computer: MS Office; SAP/ERP/CMMS; SCADA/DCS (preferred); production reporting software; basic data analysis tools.
- Soft Skills: Leadership, communication, teamwork, decision making, analytical thinking, planning & coordination, problem solving, time management, report writing and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions
- Frequent travel between Bakrol, Karjisan and Lohar production facilities.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays, as required.
- Availability for emergency call-outs and production upsets on a 24×7 basis.
- Work in outdoor oil field environments under varying weather conditions; participation in well interventions, commissioning, production testing and emergency operations.
