Job Title: Product Designer

Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (Mandatory)

Experience: 3–5 Years

Location: Chakan Pune, Maharashtra

Product Designer:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 3–5 years of experience in automotive product design and development.

- Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5, AutoCAD, 2D/3D CAD modelling, GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Experience in wheel design and development will be preferred.
- Good understanding of product design, materials, manufacturing processes and costing.
- Experience in new product development, engineering changes, design reviews and product launches.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 documentation and audit requirements.
- Experience in product testing, validation, homologation and preparation of technical/test reports.
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi are preferred.

Experience, Skills & Technical Requirements:

• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and AutoCAD with strong 2D/3D modelling capabilities.

- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, drafting and drawing release.
- Experience in SAP BOM preparation and engineering change management.
- Knowledge of product development processes, materials, costing and packaging design.
- Exposure to APQP/PPAP, Control Plans, CSR documentation and audit preparation.




- Knowledge of FEA/analysis software such as ANSYS or HyperWorks will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to VAVE/VA-VE, cost reduction, innovation and continuous improvement projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, conceptual and decision-making skills.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop 3D models, 2D drawings and engineering drawings for automotive wheel products.

- Prepare and release product drawings, technical specifications, procedures and work instructions.
- Develop and modify packaging designs and drawings, coordinating with AQ and SCM teams for trials.
- Coordinate current wheel development, design reviews, engineering changes and plant launch activities.
- Prepare SAP BOMs and release drawings as per new product and design-change requirements.
- Prepare and maintain APQP/PPAP and audit documentation, including Control Plans.
- Support IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 audit preparation and participation.
- Coordinate with testing teams for product testing, validation and preparation of test/validation reports.
- Coordinate with external agencies for homologation and documentation submission.
- Participate in TPM, Kaizen, NWT, innovation, cost-saving and VA/VE improvement projects.
- Coordinate with customers, internal departments and global engineering teams for product design and development activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and internal engineering activities.

Working Conditions:

- Travel requirement: Generally less than 10%.
- Primarily office-based role with occasional exposure to the manufacturing plant/shop floor during design reviews, trials and product development activities.
