Job Summary

Bharat Toyota is looking for a proactive and commercially focused Used Car Procurement Officer to source quality pre-owned vehicles from individual customers, exchange cases, dealers, brokers, online platforms and other market channels. The role involves vehicle inspection, valuation, negotiation, documentation and procurement of used cars at commercially viable prices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Source used cars through customer referrals, exchange leads, direct purchases, dealers, brokers and other market channels.
2. Identify vehicles suitable for procurement based on age, condition, demand, resale potential and market value.
3. Conduct preliminary physical inspection of vehicles, including body condition, tyres, interiors, engine, transmission and overall mechanical condition.
4. Coordinate with the evaluation/technical team for detailed vehicle inspection and valuation.
5. Verify vehicle documents including RC, insurance, PUC, loan/hypothecation status and ownership details.
6. Check vehicle history, accident history, service records, odometer consistency and ownership history.
7. Research current market prices and comparable vehicle listings to determine appropriate procurement values.
8. Negotiate with vehicle owners, dealers and other sellers to achieve commercially viable purchase prices.
9. Prepare vehicle valuation and procurement proposals for management approval.
10. Ensure that vehicles are procured within approved pricing and margin guidelines.
11. Maintain a strong pipeline of potential vehicles for procurement.
12. Follow up with exchange customers and prospects to convert opportunities into used-car purchases.
13. Coordinate with RTO, Finance, Accounts,



Insurance and Used Car teams for documentation and transfer formalities.
14. Ensure proper execution of purchase agreements and other required procurement documents.
15. Maintain records of sourced vehicles, valuations, negotiated prices, procurement status and final purchase price.
16. Monitor local used-car market trends, competitor pricing and demand for different models and variants.
17. Develop relationships with individual sellers, used-car dealers, brokers and other sourcing partners.
18. Ensure timely procurement and movement of purchased vehicles to the designated Bharat Toyota facility.
19. Identify potential risks such as flood damage, major accident repairs, tampered odometers, pending loans or documentation discrepancies.
20. Ensure compliance with Bharat Toyota's internal procurement processes, approval matrix and ethical standards.

Qualification & Experience Education: Graduate preferred. Candidates with relevant automobile experience may also be considered.

Experience:

- 2–5 years of experience in used-car procurement, valuation, automobile sales or pre-owned vehicle operations.
- Experience with a Toyota dealership or an established multi-brand used-car operation will be an advantage.
- Candidates with strong automobile knowledge and experience in vehicle evaluation/negotiation may also be considered.
