To manage the day-to-day administrative, operational, and welfare functions of the student in the University Hostels, ensuring a safe, disciplined, clean, and conducive living environment for resident students.

A – Administrative &

- Operational Management

- Oversee daily hostel operations including room allocation, student residency records, registers, and databases.

- Coordinate with the Hostel staff on policy implementation and disciplinary matters.

- Prepare periodic reports (occupancy, maintenance, incidents, etc) for university administration.

B- Facility &

- Maintenance Management

- Ensure upkeep of infrastructure across all the Hostels — rooms, washrooms, common areas, mess/dining halls, recreation areas

- Supervise housekeeping, sanitation, pest control, and repair/maintenance staff, contractors/vendors for maintenance, renovation, and procurement of hostel supplies.

- Monitor utility usage; ensure timely resolution of complaint.

C- Staff Supervision

- Supervise hostel staff

- Administer duty rosters and monitor staff attendance and performance.

- Conduct periodic staff meetings and trainings.

D- Student Welfare &





- Discipline

- Address student grievances related to accommodation, mess, maintenance, roommate issues etc.

- Enforce hostel rules, curfew timings, and disciplinary code in coordination with the other staff in the Hostels

- Handle emergencies (medical, security, fire, etc.) and coordinate with campus security/medical services

- Support orientation programs for recent residents

E- Safety &

- Security

- Ensure functioning of CCTV, fire safety equipment, and emergency exits

- Conduct regular safety audits and coordinate mock drills

- Administer visitor logs and enforce entry/exit protocols

- Coordinate with Campus Safety &
- Security Department for security-related matters

F- Mess/Catering Coordination

- Supervise mess contractor/catering staff for food quality, hygiene, and timely service

- Address food-related complaints and monitor menu planning

- Ensure compliance with food safety standards

G- Compliance &

- Documentation

- Ensure compliance with university hostel policies, government regulations (fire safety, building codes), and UGC/AICTE norms (if applicable)

- Maintain records for audits and inspections

- Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hostel operations
