Job Purpose The Plant Manager will be responsible for overall plant performance, manufacturing execution, production efficiency, material processing, equipment uptime, and workforce management. This role focuses on maximizing output quality and operational throughputspecifically around steel processing and Cut & Bend (C&B;) line operationswhile maintaining strict standards for plant safety, quality control, preventive maintenance, and operational cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Processing Execution

- Plan, direct, and oversee daily plant operations to ensure daily production targets, processing schedules, and product quality specifications are consistently met.
- Drive operational excellence across Cut & Bend (C&B;) and steel processing machinery, optimizing cycle times, yield efficiency, and line throughput.
- Monitor product specifications and maintain strict quality assurance processes for processed steel products.

Plant Maintenance & Asset Management
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency by implementing preventive, predictive, and total productive maintenance (TPM) programs for processing lines, overhead cranes, machinery, weighbridges, and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational bottlenecks on the shop floor to prevent unexpected downtime.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate equipment overhauls and repairs with technical vendors and maintenance teams.

Operational Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, direct, and manage the plant workforce,



including production supervisors, machine operators, technicians, and contract labor.
- Build a strong safety and continuous improvement culture on the shop floor through regular safety briefings, process training, and skill development.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify operational skill gaps, and implement targeted technical and safety training programs.

Process Optimization, Yield & Cost Control
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize raw material utilization to minimize yield loss, scrap, and material rejections.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S methodologies, and process-improvement initiatives to reduce operational waste and lower cost per ton processed.
- Track daily power, resource, and utility consumption, taking proactive measures to control plant operational expenditures (OPEX).

Safety, EHS & Quality Compliance
- Enforce zero-tolerance workplace safety standards, environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, and statutory compliance across the facility.
- Maintain clean, organized, and standardized shop-floor conditions through rigorous 5S practices and routine audit inspections.
- Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for operational defects, machine downtime, or safety near-misses/incidents.

Reporting & Management Coordination
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports (OEE, production yield, downtime analysis,



maintenance logs, scrap rates) to the Director.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, sales, and quality teams to align production schedules with incoming raw materials and customer order priorities.

Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5- 8 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, steel processing, Cut & Bend (C&B;) operations, structural fabrication, or industrial plant management.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of steel processing machinery, hydraulic systems, material handling equipment, preventive maintenance routines, and shop-floor manufacturing workflows.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record in managing direct production teams, technical operators, and contract labor forces in a high-volume industrial plant environment.
- Process Knowledge: Practical understanding of quality standards, scrap minimization, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), continuous improvement (5S/Kaizen), and safety compliance (EHS).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, production reporting tools, and working knowledge of ERP system modules (e.g., Tally/SAP/Oracle) relevant to plant operations.
- Soft Skills: High problem-solving capability, robust communication, decisive leadership under operational pressure, and ability to drive multi-task execution independently.
