Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, ensuring proper storage of drugs, and supporting healthcare staff with pharmaceutical expertise. The role ensures safe and effective use of medications and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispense prescribed medications accurately to patients.

- Review prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and possible drug interactions.

- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and storage.

- Maintain inventory of medicines, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical supplies.

- Ensure proper storage and handling of drugs according to safety standards.

- Coordinate with doctors and nurses for medication requirements and updates.

- Keep records of prescriptions, controlled substances, and stock.

- Stay updated with latest pharmaceutical developments and regulations.

- Ensure compliance with hospital, state,



and central pharmacy laws.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.

- Positive communication and patient counseling skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other staff.

- Familiarity with pharmacy management software and inventory systems.

Qualification

- B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) or D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy) from a recognized institute.

- Registered with the State Pharmacy Council / Pharmacy Council of India.

Experience

- 1–3 years experience preferred for hospital/retail pharmacy.

- Experience in hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, or community pharmacy is a plus.
