Role Overview

This is a strategic Packaging Procurement role responsible for managing a complex packaging portfolio, with independent ownership of the Corrugates category (~$35M annual spend).

The role requires a solid combination of technical Packaging knowledge Strategic Procurement experience, with responsibility across category strategy, supplier management, productivity, NPD, P&L;, supply continuity and stakeholder management.

Key Requirements

- Approximately 810 years of overall experience
- Strong Packaging Strategic Procurement experience
- Preferably 2–3 years in Packaging and 3–4 years in Procurement
- Technical understanding of packaging materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience in Corrugates / Secondary Packaging strongly preferred
- Engineering/Packaging educational background preferred; MBA/Management qualification is an advantage
- FMCG preferred; other industries can be considered with relevant packaging scale and complexity
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to independently manage a complex category in a matrix organization
- Preferably a manageable notice period of around 1 month

Key Responsibilities

- Independently manage ~$35M Corrugates category spend
- Strategic sourcing, category strategy and long-term sourcing roadmap
- Supplier sourcing, development, negotiations and performance management
- RFQ/RFP, e-auctions, contracting and commodity/index-based costing




- Category P&L; and productivity/cost optimization
- Supply continuity and supplier risk/Business Continuity Planning
- NPD Packaging sourcing, trials, supplier qualification and commercialization
- Packaging sustainability initiatives
- Contract compliance and procurement governance
- SAP/P2P processes
- Collaboration with R&D;, Brand, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance and Global/Regional Procurement teams
- Managing a complex ecosystem of suppliers and internal stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

This is not a transactional procurement role. We are looking for someone who can independently own the category, manage complexity and think strategically across the 3/6/12 month horizon, while effectively influencing suppliers and senior internal stakeholders.
