We work with clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to early-stage startups, across technology domains including electronics, IT, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.

We are looking for a Patent Associate with a background in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals to join our growing patent practice.

Responsibilities

- Draft patent specifications (provisional and complete) and claims for inventions in life sciences, biotech, and pharmaceutical domains
- Conduct patentability, prior art, and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) searches
- Prepare responses to First Examination Reports (FER) and other office actions from the Indian Patent Office and international patent offices
- Assist in patent oppositions, revocations,



and related contentious matters
- Liaise with inventors, R&D; teams, and foreign associates to translate technical disclosures into solid patent applications
- Stay updated on developments in patent law and relevant scientific literature in the assigned domain

Qualifications

- Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in patent drafting and/or prosecution, preferably at a law firm, IP firm, or in-house IP team
- LL.B. is an added advantage, though not mandatory
- Registered Patent Agent qualification (India) is a strong plus
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of the Indian Patents Act and Rules; familiarity with USPTO, EPO, or PCT procedures is a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and inventors
