Position: Paediatric Consultant

Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Hospital Management

Job Summary The Paediatric Consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The consultant will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor paediatric patients while ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient safety, documentation, and communication with parents/guardians.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct consultations and clinical assessment of paediatric patients.
- Diagnose and manage common and complex paediatric medical conditions.
- Provide appropriate treatment, prescriptions, and follow-up plans.
- Monitor patients admitted to the paediatric ward and other designated areas.
- Manage paediatric emergencies and provide timely intervention.
- Assess and manage neonatal and childhood illnesses as per qualifications and hospital facilities.
- Monitor child growth, development, nutrition, and vaccination requirements.
- Counsel parents/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, medication, nutrition, and preventive care.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets, prescriptions, and clinical documentation.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per the hospital schedule.




- Refer patients to appropriate specialists or higher centres whenever required.
- Ensure informed consent and proper communication with parents/guardians before procedures or major interventions.
- Participate in clinical meetings, quality initiatives, audits, and hospital training programmes when required.

Qualification

- MBBS from a recognised medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Paediatrics or equivalent recognised postgraduate qualification.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Additional training/experience in Neonatology or Paediatric Critical Care will be an advantage.

Experience

- Relevant experience in a hospital/clinical setting preferred.
- Fresh postgraduate candidates with appropriate qualifications may also be considered.

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
