Oracle Hyperion Technical Administrator - On-Premises
Role Title: Oracle Hyperion Technical Administrator
Platform: On-Premises Oracle Hyperion / EPM
Experience Level: Senior Technical Administrator / Technical Consultant
Role Summary The Oracle Hyperion Technical Administrator will be responsible for administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, monitoring, and technical support of on-premises Oracle Hyperion / EPM environments. The role is focused on infrastructure, middleware, application services, security, integrations, backups, performance, and day-to-day technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
•Administer on-premises Oracle Hyperion / EPM environments.
•Manage Hyperion services, WebLogic domains, Shared Services, Workspace, Planning, Essbase, HFM, Financial Reporting, FDMEE, and related components.
•Perform installation, configuration, patching, cloning, migration, and environment refresh activities.
•Monitor application services, logs, jobs, integrations, server health, and system availability.
•Troubleshoot application, middleware, Essbase, database connectivity, security, and performance issues.
•Manage user provisioning, groups, roles, Shared Services security, and LDAP / Active Directory integration.
•Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high availability procedures.
•Maintain configuration files, environment variables, registry settings, data source connections, and application artifacts.
•Support batch automation, MaxL scripts, EPM Automate where applicable, shell scripts, Windows scheduled tasks, and operational jobs.
•Coordinate with DBA, OS, storage, network, security, and business application teams.
•Support SIT, UAT, production deployment, cutover, and post-change validation.
•Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, health check reports, and operational handover documents.
Required Technical Skills
•Strong hands-on administration experience with on-premises Oracle Hyperion / EPM.
•Experience with Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Shared Services, Workspace, Financial Reporting, FDMEE, and WebLogic.
•Knowledge of Hyperion installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and environment migration.
•Experience managing Windows and/or Linux-based Hyperion servers.
•Understanding of Oracle Database / SQL Server connectivity, JDBC data sources, ODBC, and repository schemas.
•Experience with WebLogic administration, Java, SSL certificates, ports, deployments, and managed servers.
•Knowledge of LDAP / Active Directory integration and Hyperion security provisioning.
•Robust troubleshooting skills using logs, services, configuration files, and application diagnostics.
•Experience with backup, restore, DR, monitoring, and performance tuning.
•Basic scripting knowledge using Shell, PowerShell, Batch, MaxL, or SQL.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with Hyperion 11.1.2.x and/or EPM 11.2.x.
•Experience with Essbase administration, cube maintenance, outline management, calc scripts, and MaxL.
•Knowledge of HFM, Financial Management rules, and application maintenance.
•Experience with FDMEE data loads, integrations, mappings, and batch jobs.
•Exposure to load balancers, SSL, SSO, OHS / IIS, and enterprise monitoring tools.
•Oracle Hyperion / EPM certification is preferred.
Experience
•5+ years of hands-on Oracle Hyperion technical administration experience.
•Experience supporting production on-premises Hyperion / EPM environments.
•Experience in enterprise production support, managed services, or Oracle CSS-style support engagements is preferred.
