Role Description The Optical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing optical systems for PHOSIC’s hyperspectral imaging platform in an in office role based in Goa, India. Day-to-day tasks include performing optical design and simulations, selecting and integrating optical components, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align system requirements with product specifications. The role involves experimental setup and testing in the lab, data analysis to validate system performance, and iterative improvement of optical architectures and alignment procedures.

The Optical

Engineer will document designs, support prototype builds,



troubleshoot issues in collaboration with hardware and software teams, and contribute to scaling solutions from concept to production. This is a full-time role.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Optical Design and Optical Engineering for imaging and instrumentation.
- Candidates should possess experience working with Lasers and related optical components and safety practices.
- Candidates should possess Systems Design skills to integrate optical, mechanical, and electronic subsystems.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Physics, particularly optics, photonics, and imaging principles.
- Beneficial qualifications include experience with hyperspectral or multispectral imaging, optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V), and laboratory instrumentation.
- Beneficial qualifications include proficiency in data analysis and scripting (e.g., Python or MATLAB), hands-on prototyping skills, and familiarity with AI or computational imaging concepts.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or a related field is preferred, along with the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site, multidisciplinary environment.
