Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Bengaluru. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and screening for common ocular conditions, while maintaining accurate and thorough patient records. The role involves prescribing lenses, advising patients on suitable eyewear options, and collaborating with store teams to ensure correct fitting and lens selection.
The Optometrist will educate customers on eye health, proper lens care, and follow-up schedules, while adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Daily responsibilities also include supporting store operations related to eye care services, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction, and participating in training or quality initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Formal optometry qualification (Diploma/Bachelor’s/Master’s in Optometry or equivalent), with valid registration as per local regulatory requirements.
- Strong clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, binocular vision assessment, and basic ocular health screening.
- Ability to explain diagnoses, prescriptions, and eyewear options clearly and empathetically, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail in maintaining patient records, prescriptions, and clinical documentation, with good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfort working in a retail eye care setting, collaborating with sales and store teams to deliver a consistent customer experience.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, diagnostic tools, and internal processes; prior experience in optical retail or eye care clinics is an advantage.
- Basic proficiency in computers and digital record systems; familiarity with point-of-sale or practice management software is a plus.
