Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Optical Design & Simulation Engineer with expertise in ANSYS SPEOS to support the Designs, simulation, analysis and optimization of automotive optical systems The role will primarily focus on the design and development of plastic components and assemblies for automotive applications using CATIA V5.
This role will be responsible for designing the optical components and simulating the performance of the complete ORVM assembly including photometric and photorealistic performance to meet regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding including but not limited to the following: Basic optics, Light propagation, Lightguide design etc.
The candidate must be proactive, highly organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1.Designing the optical components after understanding the legal requirements of an automotive product. Prepare basic drawing for further study.
1. Coordinate with Mechanical/CAD team to understand the space and packing requirements.
2. Understand the legal requirements of an automotive product to design and simulate accordingly.
3. Generate data/reports to analyse system performance for further optimization.
4. Coordinate with Electronics team to select the light source (LED, Bulb etc.) for finalizing the electrical and optical power requirements.
5. Design Lighting systems to meet AIS, UN ECE & FMVSS regulation requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- B. Tech/B.E. (Electronics, Mechanical or related discipline) with 6-7 years of post-qualification experience in the automotive industry, with special experience in Optics (Educational or Industry).
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands on Experience on an optical simulation program including design and simulation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional global environment.
