Position: Doctor

Department: Outpatient Department

Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Head of Department

Roles & Responsibilities

- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients attending the OPD.

- Take detailed medical histories and perform physical examinations.

- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.

- Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic tests and reports.

- Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling.

- Refer patients to specialists or for hospital admission when required.

- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.

- Follow hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and ethical standards.

- Participate in OPD rounds, audits, and quality improvement activities.

- Handle medical emergencies in OPD as per protocol.

- Communicate effectively with patients, attendants, and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

- MBBS (mandatory); MD/MS/DNB or Diploma (preferred, depending on specialty).

- Valid medical registration with State Medical Council/NMC.
