Position Details

Position Title: Network Engineer

Number of Positions: 01

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan

Reporting To: Administration Manager / Senior Leadership

Employment Type: Full-time, in-office

Experience Required: 2-4 Years

Educational Qualifications

Bachelors Degree

Candidates with a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Computer Applications (BCA / B.Sc. IT), Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech.), or related fields may apply. Candidates with a Diploma in Computer / Hardware & Networking and relevant experience may also apply.

Masters Degree (Preferred/Advantageous)

Candidates with an MCA, M.Sc. IT, M.Tech., or a related Masters Degree will be preferred. Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+ / A+, Fortinet NSE, or Microsoft 365 will be an added advantage.

Additional preference will be given to candidates possessing:

- Hands-on experience in setting up and fixing routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
- Good knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Hands-on experience in desktop, laptop, and printer support.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (users, email, licences, and access).
- Understanding of cyber security basics, data backup, and access control.
- Experience supporting multi-location or field-based teams.
- Experience in development sector, skilling, education, or project-based organisations.

Relevant Work Experience Candidates with 2–4 years of experience in networking, IT support, system administration, or IT infrastructure are eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in:

- Setting up and maintaining office networks, Wi-Fi, and internet connections.
- Configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Fixing network and connectivity issues.
- Installing, configuring, and fixing laptops, desktops, and printers.
- Installing and updating operating systems and software.
- Managing user accounts, email, and licences on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- Antivirus, data backup, and basic IT security.
- Helpdesk support and coordination with IT vendors.

Role Overview The Network Engineer will look after the complete IT set-up of Primarch Skills and its sister concerns and subsidiaries. Around half of the role is about the network (office networks, Wi-Fi, internet, firewalls, and VPNs) and the other half is about IT systems and support (laptops, software, email, security, backups, and user support). The role acts as the first point of contact for all technology needs of office staff as well as project and field teams. We are looking for a hands-on person with strong technical basics, who keeps good records, takes security seriously, and can handle many requests at the same time.

The selected candidate will work closely with the administration, HR, finance, and programme teams to make sure systems are running, data is safe and backed up, and everyone has the tools they need to do their work.

Roles & Responsibilities

A. Network (approx. 50% of the role)

Network Set-Up & Configuration

Set up and maintain the network at offices, project locations, and training centres.

- Plan and set up LAN and Wi-Fi networks, including cabling and rack work.
- Configure routers, switches, VLANs, and wireless access points.
- Manage IP addresses, DHCP, and DNS, and keep device firmware up to date.
- Keep separate networks for staff, guests, and devices such as CCTV.

Firewall & Network Security Keep the network safe from unauthorised access and threats.

- Set up and manage firewall rules, web filtering, and access controls.
- Check firewall logs and alerts regularly, and act on anything unusual.
- Review firewall rules and open ports from time to time and close any gaps.

VPN & Multi-Site Connectivity Connect offices, project locations, and remote staff securely.





- Set up and support VPNs between offices and for staff working remotely.
- Make sure all locations can reliably access internal systems and government portals.

Internet & ISP Management Make sure every location has reliable internet.

- Coordinate with internet service providers for new connections, upgrades, and outages.
- Set up backup internet lines that take over automatically when the main line fails.
- Keep an eye on bandwidth usage and control it where needed.

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting Keep the network running smoothly.

- Use monitoring tools to track uptime, speed, and device health.
- Fix network, Wi-Fi, VPN, and slow internet issues quickly, on site or remotely.
- Find the cause of repeated issues and fix them permanently.
- Keep backups of router, switch, and firewall settings so they can be restored quickly.

CCTV & Biometric Device Networks Set up and support the network for CCTV cameras, NVRs, and biometric attendance devices at offices and training centres, and make sure they stay online and secure.

B. IT Systems & Support (approx. 50% of the role)

IT Hardware & Asset Management

Look after all IT equipment from purchase to disposal.

- Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, projectors, and video conferencing equipment.
- Keep an IT asset register with details of each device, who it is issued to, and its warranty.
- Issue devices to employees and collect them back when they leave.
- Arrange repairs, warranty claims, and safe disposal of old devices after wiping data.

Software & Licence Management Make sure all systems run licensed and updated software.

- Install and set up operating systems and business software on current devices.
- Keep operating systems and software updated with the latest security patches.
- Keep a record of software licences (Microsoft 365, Tally, antivirus, and others) and track renewals.

Email & Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace Manage the organisation’s email and collaboration tools.

- Create, change, and remove user accounts, mailboxes, and groups.
- Manage access to shared drives, folders, and Teams.
- Turn on multi-factor authentication and password rules.
- Manage the domain, email settings, and SSL certificate renewals.

Helpdesk & User Support Be the first point of contact for all IT issues.

- Fix hardware, software, email, printer, and connectivity issues, on site or remotely.
- Log and track all issues in a ticketing tool or tracker and close them on time.
- Escalate complex issues to vendors and follow up until they are resolved.

Cyber Security & Data Backup Keep systems and data safe.

- Install and monitor antivirus on all devices.
- Give users only the access they need, and review access regularly.
- Take regular backups of important data (Tally, HR, MIS, and project records) and test that they can be restored.
- Make staff aware of phishing, passwords, and safe handling of data, including beneficiary data.
- Report and escalate security incidents as required, including under CERT-In guidelines.

Joining & Exit Support Work with HR to give new joiners their laptop, email ID, Wi-Fi, and system access on day one. When someone leaves, remove their access on time, collect their devices, and save their data as per policy.

Field & Project Tech Support

Support project and field teams with laptops, tablets, biometric devices, internet devices, and access to government and internal portals. Help district and centre-level staff remotely when they face device or internet issues.

Vendors, Purchase & AMC

Collect quotations for IT and network purchases, coordinate with vendors, manage AMCs and warranties, and track renewals of domains, firewall licences, software, and internet connections.

IT Policies & Documentation

Prepare and update IT policies and procedures. Keep network diagrams, IP address lists, asset and licence records, vendor contacts, and admin passwords up to date and stored securely, and support IT audits.

Reporting & Updates

Share regular IT and network updates covering issues, uptime, assets, renewals, security incidents, backups, and IT spend with the reporting manager.

Additional Project Responsibilities

Take up any other work assigned by the reporting manager or Senior Leadership in line with organisational needs, including assignments for Primarch Skills and its sister concerns and subsidiaries.

Skills

- Networking: Good knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Router, Switch & Firewall Set-Up:



Ability to configure and fix routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
- Hardware Support: Ability to set up, fix, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other devices.
- Operating Systems & Software: Good working knowledge of Windows 10/11, MS Office, and common business software.
- Email & Cloud Administration: Ability to manage users, mailboxes, licences, and access on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- IT Security & Backup: Knowledge of antivirus, patching, multi-factor authentication, access control, and data backup.
- Documentation: Keeps accurate records of network diagrams, IP lists, assets, and licences.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms and support non-technical users patiently.
- Confidentiality & Professionalism: Handles admin access, passwords, and sensitive data with care and integrity.

Tools & Technical Proficiency

Mandatory

- Routers, managed switches, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Firewall / UTM platforms (e.g., Fortinet, Sophos, or similar).
- Windows 10/11 and MS Office.
- Microsoft 365 Admin Center or Google Workspace Admin Console.
- Antivirus / endpoint protection tools.
- Remote support tools (e.g., AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Quick Assist).
- Network troubleshooting tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, Wireshark).
- MS Excel for asset, IP, licence, and issue tracking.

Desired

- Network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix, or similar).
- Networking brands such as Cisco, Ubiquiti, MikroTik, or Aruba.
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune, or similar device management tools.
- Backup and NAS solutions (e.g., Synology, Veeam, cloud backup).
- IT helpdesk / ticketing tools (e.g., Freshservice, Zoho Desk, GLPI).
- Basic scripting (PowerShell or Python) for routine tasks.
- Tally installation and multi-user set-up.
- CCTV / NVR and biometric attendance systems.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is technically strong, organised, and service-minded, with hands-on experience in both networking and day-to-day IT support for a small to mid-sized organisation. Experience supporting multiple locations or field-based teams will be a solid plus. We will also give preference to candidates who take security seriously, keep good records, take ownership, and stay calm while handling many requests in a deadline-driven environment.

Travel & Mobility Requirements

- Mainly office-based role in Jaipur.
- Occasional travel to project offices, training centres, or vendor locations for set-up, support, or audits.
- Flexibility to handle urgent issues or planned maintenance outside regular working hours when needed.
