Narayana Health is one of India's leading healthcare organizations, committed to providing high-quality and affordable healthcare services. We are looking for an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to manage and oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure across healthcare facilities.
Role Overview The Senior MEP Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, maintenance, and management of MEP systems, with solid expertise in plumbing systems and hospital infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have 10 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of MEP systems, building services, project execution, preventive maintenance, statutory compliance, and vendor management. Experience in hospitals or healthcare facilities will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Operations & Engineering
- Manage and oversee Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems across healthcare facilities.
- Ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all MEP infrastructure.
- Plan and monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Identify technical issues and implement timely corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure minimum downtime of critical MEP systems, particularly in patient-care areas and critical hospital facilities.
Plumbing & Water Management
- Take ownership of hospital plumbing systems, including domestic water supply, hot water systems, drainage, sewage, stormwater, and related infrastructure.
- Manage water supply, pumping systems, storage tanks, treatment systems, and distribution networks.
- Monitor plumbing installations, maintenance, repairs, and system performance.
- Ensure proper functioning of drainage and sewage systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for plumbing projects and major repairs.
- Identify opportunities for water conservation and improve operational efficiency.
Mechanical Systems
- Oversee HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, cooling towers, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Monitor HVAC performance and ensure appropriate environmental conditions across critical hospital areas.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of critical areas such as OTs, ICUs, laboratories, and other specialized healthcare facilities.
Electrical Systems
- Coordinate with electrical engineering teams for the operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable functioning of DG sets, UPS systems, transformers, HT/LT panels, electrical distribution systems, and emergency power systems.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy efficiency.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical hospital areas.
Project & Vendor Management
- Manage MEP projects, renovations, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Review MEP drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project execution, quality, timelines, and budgets.
- Evaluate technical proposals and vendor quotations where required.
- Ensure that completed works meet approved technical and safety standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure MEP systems comply with applicable building codes, safety standards, statutory requirements, and healthcare facility guidelines.
- Maintain required documentation, inspection reports, maintenance records, and compliance records.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and certifications related to MEP systems.
- Ensure appropriate safety practices during maintenance and project execution.
- Support audits and inspections related to engineering and facility operations.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP engineering, building services, facility engineering, or infrastructure management.
- Strong hands-on experience in plumbing systems is essential.
- Experience managing multiple MEP systems and large-scale facilities is preferred.
- Experience in hospitals, healthcare facilities, large commercial buildings, hotels, or other critical infrastructure will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing contractors, consultants, and engineering vendors is preferred.
