Role Description The Mechanical Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based at the Vapi facility. The person in this role oversees mechanical maintenance activities, supervises technical staff, and ensures proper operation of heavy equipment and machinery in the plant. Day-to-day tasks include planning and assigning work, monitoring equipment performance, coordinating repairs, and conducting routine inspections to prevent breakdowns.

The Mechanical

Foreman works closely with production teams to minimize downtime, maintain safety standards, and support continuous improvement in mechanical systems.



The role also involves documentation of maintenance activities, reporting issues, and communicating effectively with management and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid supervisory skills, including team leadership, task allocation, and performance monitoring.
- Candidates should possess experience working with heavy equipment and mechanical systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Candidates should possess clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with staff, documenting work, and reporting to management.
- Candidates should possess maintenance skills related to mechanical repairs, routine servicing, and troubleshooting of plant machinery.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards, preventive maintenance practices, and basic carpentry for minor structural or support work is beneficial.
- Prior experience in a pulp and paper mill or similar heavy process industry is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in rotating shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies when needed.
