Profile: Mechanical Fitter

Experience

- 3–7 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
- Experience in paper, packaging, textile, chemical or other process/manufacturing plants will be preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in industrial machinery maintenance will be preferred.

Roles:
- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize machine downtime and production losses.
- Handle installation, dismantling, alignment and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, conveyors and mechanical drives.
- Attend to machine breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Perform mechanical fitting, fabrication,



assembly and replacement of machine components.
- Conduct routine inspection and lubrication of machinery and identify potential mechanical failures.
- Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, equipment layouts and assembly diagrams.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports and spare-parts requirements.
- Coordinate with Production and Electrical/Instrumentation teams during breakdowns and maintenance activities.
- Follow plant safety procedures, PPE requirements and maintenance standards.

Qualification:
- ITI – Fitter / Mechanical Fitter or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant technical certification in mechanical maintenance will be an advantage.
