What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Manager - Underwriting to lead our Underwriting department. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in underwriting, with a proven track record of successfully managing and growing underwriting teams. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions and drive business growth.

The Manager - Underwriting will be responsible for setting departmental goals, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies to drive business results.

What does the job entail?

- Oversee the underwriting process to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

- Analyze and assess risk profiles of potential clients to determine coverage and premium rates

- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to optimize revenue growth and minimize losses

- Manage a team of underwriters,



providing guidance and support to ensure effective risk assessment and decision-making

- Conduct thorough reviews of underwriting applications and policies to identify potential risks and opportunities

- Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and risk management, to ensure seamless service delivery

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes, applying knowledge to inform underwriting decisions

- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers and agents

- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of underwriting performance and metrics

- Identify andmitigate potential risks, implementing controls to minimize exposure

Essential Qualification

Graduate

Preferred Skills

- Retail or Group Underwriting

- Underwriting limit: 1Cr or Above

- Co-ordination with Sales team to resolve their queries

- Proficient with excel

- Manage & Train team members
