Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location : Navi Mumbai

Reports to: CEO / CFO

Job Overview The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the biosimilar company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry-specific regulations. This role will support the finance team in managing the companys accounting functions, including managing revenue, expenses, tax compliance, audits, and financial strategy.

Accountant will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth by providing detailed financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Reporting & Analysis

- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Provide insights on the financial health of the company to management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.

2. Cost Accounting for Biosimilars

- Oversee cost accounting specific to biosimilar production, including the tracking of costs related to raw materials, production, and R&D; expenses.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Collaborate with the operations and procurement teams to monitor and manage production costs.

3. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns (corporate, VAT/GST, withholding tax, etc.) timely and accurately.
- Maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment for biosimilars and ensure financial practices align with industry standards.

4. Audit & Internal Controls

- Lead and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate audit reports.
- Establish and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.




- Conduct regular audits of financial processes to ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

5. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

- Oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital effectively.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

6. Financial Strategy & Planning

- Collaborate with senior management to provide financial input in strategic decision-making.
- Assist in financial planning related to the development of new biosimilar products and expansion into recent markets.
- Identify areas for improvement in financial operations and recommend actionable solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with specific experience in manufacturing or biosimilar production being an advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, such as FDA, EMA, and other biosimilar-specific requirements, is a plus.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working in a biosimilar or pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
- Familiarity with cost accounting in a regulated industry.
