Market & Competitor Analysis:
Continuously track market trends, customer expectations, and competitor products in the coil coatings space to identify gaps, differentiation opportunities, and technology upgrades.
Performance & Property Optimization:
Develop formulations to meet critical coil coating performance requirements such as flexibility (T‑bend), adhesion, corrosion resistance, weatherability, gloss retention, and forming performance.
Color Matching & Shade Development:
Develop and standardize shades with high batch‑to‑batch consistency, ensuring color stability under high‑temperature curing conditions and long‑term exterior exposure.
Cost Optimization:
Drive formulation optimization initiatives to achieve cost competitiveness without compromising on performance, durability, or application robustness.
Raw Material Evaluation:
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new and alternative raw materials including resins, pigments, additives, and solvents suitable for high‑speed coil coating operations.
End‑to‑End Project Ownership:
Independently manage projects from concept development, lab validation, pilot trials, and customer approval through to successful commercialization.
Trial Coatings & Line Trials:
Plan and execute laboratory, pilot‑line, and full‑scale coil line trials; analyze results and fine‑tune formulations to ensure consistent line performance.
Develop leadership in Technical team:
Work closely with technical team members and guide them with critical aspects of business and impact TAT while maintaining quality of product world class.
Cross‑Functional Technical Support:
Work closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth scale‑up, production stability, and customer satisfaction.
Standards & Compliance:
Maintain strong working knowledge of relevant ASTM, ISO, EN, and customer‑specific coil coating standards and test methods.
Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support for internal manufacturing issues and customer‑reported performance concerns, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
Process Standardization:
Standardize formulations,
application parameters, and process controls for new products across internal plants and outsourced production centers (OPCs).
SAP & PLM Systems Utilization:
Demonstrate working knowledge of SAP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for formulation management, bill of materials (BOM), change management, data documentation, and effective coordination across functions.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed technical documentation including formulations, test data, trial reports, approvals, and revision histories for all development projects.
Coordination & Communication:
Ensure effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain alignment, timelines, and technical clarity.
