Manager LogisticsRole Purpose The Logistics Manager leads warehouse and logistics operations in India, ensuring the safe, compliant and cost-effective flow of goods across receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, transportation and customs. The role is accountable for service levels, inventory accuracy, resource planning and continuous improvement, while developing the team and driving local and global logistics initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations across inbound receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Plan and manage transportation, shipping and import activities, including carrier selection, freight coordination and on-time delivery performance.
- Oversee customs clearance, trade compliance, dangerous goods processes and transport-law matters, serving as the key local point of contact.
- Manage export obligations and government incentive schemes, including Advance Licence, EPCG, Duty Drawback, IGST refunds and RoDTEP benefits.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through annual physical inventory, cycle counts, shelf-life controls, FIFO management and effective handling of obsolete stock.
- Optimise warehouse strategy, layout, space utilisation, stock levels, replenishment,
route planning and workstation capacity to achieve cost, productivity, quality and service targets.
- Identify and implement process improvements, document key procedures, and lead or contribute to local and global logistics projects.
- Plan resource capacity and build team capability through structured onboarding, recurring training, qualification and safe equipment operation.
Role Requirements
- Education : BCOM, BE or any relevant Degree.
- At least five years of experience in commercial and logistics operations.
- Working proficiency in English & in Kannada, Hindi and Tamil is also required for the role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, transportation, shipping, import/export and customs processes.
- Understanding of trade compliance, government incentive schemes and product-related import certifications such as IMEI, EPR and e-waste certificates.
- Demonstrated business planning, decision-making and problem-solving capability, including the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to provide practical support, guidance and advice to colleagues and stakeholders.
- A collaborative and motivating leadership style, with experience in employee training, development and team qualification.
