Business Support manager is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations across GM, GCIB & International Finance and Treasury and driving execution of effective governance, technology enablement, policy adherence, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Support Manager to support the COO organization in executing key business management and transformation priorities. The role will partner with GBS control & support functions like Finance, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders to drive governance routines, technology adoption and ensure there are no KRI or KPI breaches. The role is instrumental in ensuring we remain compliant with all the policy and guidelines of GBS,
This role will also play a key role in supporting the HC forecast cycles in partnership with the LOB counterparts.
The ideal candidate will possess solid analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable outcomes while maintaining a strong risk and control environment.
Key responsibilities include acting as a central point of contact for senior leadership routines and activities,
financial control/budgeting and consolidation, personnel processes, audit/compliance, premises, associate training, service quality, process improvements, business continuity, and communications. Job expectations include interacting with a wide variety of business partners to deliver strategic work efforts to ensure tactical priorities are met.
Responsibilities
- Partners with peers and control partners to ensure strong engagement and adherence to risk management and operational risk policies and processes
- Drives successful execution of team events and routines, including logistics, communications and gathering feedback
- Develops comprehensive plans around key organizational priorities and ensures all accountable parties understand respective roles/responsibilities
- Partners with GBS reporting and analytics team to ensure accurate reporting while seeking opportunities to reduce manual processes
- Assists senior executive and team with a full range of engagements
- Provides oversight of key deliverables and validates accurate and timely completion
- Works directly with the other business management team to build deliver reports and manage other GBS wide priorities
- Interactions on a daily basis with all levels of the organization, reviewing and gaining feedback on: • Resource changes, on-boarding, off-boarding, reporting and metrics as well as reconciliation with central GMRT team reports
- Vendor management including A/P process, invoice payment and status, and forecasting
- General ad-hoc requests as needed for executive level meetings, business presentations, corporate communications, etc.
- Resource plans (forecast vs. actual)
- Quarterly business/organizational reviews (headcount ratios, hiring status, financials, etc.)
- Resource management (hiring requests and approvals, forecasting, on-boarding, mandatory training tracking, contract/contractor management)
- Operational Risk Management – Compliance coordination (mandatory training, etc.)
- Work with the PMs on developing their forecasts (resources, budget)
Requirements*
- Education*
Graduate/ Post Graduate from Tier I/II institute with at least 8 yrs
Experience Range
7 to 8 years with at least 5 years’ experience in COO support role.
Foundational skills*
- Hands-on experience in delivering tasks related to COO, Transformation, Business Management or related functions.
- Experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, operational risk, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in data analysis and management reporting.
- Experience supporting technology, automation, or AI-related initiatives.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Knowledge MS Office Suit including PowerPoint & Excel skills
- Ability to write effective prompts in AI Chat applications like Copilot
- Intellectual curiosity, regularly asking questions to enable rapid learning of a complex topic.
- Self-starter with ability to be proactive and well organized.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills
- Candidate must have a proven track record of communicating effectively with personnel from various areas within an organization and at different management levels
