Qualification
- Any Degree
- Diploma / Certification in Logistics & Supply Chain Management preferred
- MBA in Logistics / Supply Chain Management is an added advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Logistics & Distribution Management
- Manage the complete logistics and distribution operations of the company.
- Plan and monitor daily delivery operations across all branches and customer locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of FMCG products.
- Optimize delivery routes, vehicle utilization, and transportation costs.
- Monitor delivery schedules and ensure minimum delivery delays.
1. Fleet Management
- Manage the company's delivery vehicles, including trucks, LCVs, APEs, bikes, and other transport vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, maintenance, insurance, permits, PUC, and road tax.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and available for daily operations.
- Track fuel consumption and identify unnecessary fuel expenses.
- Monitor vehicle breakdowns and coordinate immediate repairs.
1. Driver & Delivery Team Management
- Manage drivers, helpers, delivery executives, and logistics coordinators.
- Prepare and monitor daily staff and vehicle deployment plans.
- Ensure drivers follow delivery schedules and company procedures.
- Monitor driver attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity.
- Conduct regular meetings and training for the logistics team.
1. Warehouse & Dispatch Coordination
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Sales, Purchase, and Branch teams for smooth dispatch operations.
- Ensure correct picking, packing, loading, and dispatch of products.
- Verify that products are dispatched according to approved invoices and delivery schedules.
- Minimize loading errors, shortages, damages, and delivery discrepancies.
- Ensure proper handling of FMCG products during loading and transportation.
1. Delivery Monitoring
- Monitor daily delivery status and pending deliveries.
- Track delayed, failed, cancelled, and returned deliveries.
- Ensure proof of delivery (POD) is collected and properly maintained.
- Monitor customer complaints related to delivery.
- Take corrective action to improve delivery efficiency.
1. Route Planning & Cost Control
- Develop efficient delivery routes based on customer locations and order volumes.
- Reduce unnecessary trips and vehicle idle time.
- Monitor transportation costs, fuel expenses, tolls, and other logistics expenses.
- Analyze cost per delivery / route / vehicle.
- Implement measures to reduce overall logistics costs.
1. Inventory & Reverse Logistics
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure smooth movement of stock.
- Monitor product returns, damaged goods, expiry-related returns, and customer returns.
- Ensure returned products are properly documented and transferred to the concerned department.
- Minimize stock loss and product damage during transportation.
1. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with company and government requirements.
- Verify vehicle documents such as:
- RC
- Insurance
- PUC
- Road Tax
- Permits
- Ensure drivers follow road safety rules.
- Ensure proper use of helmets, seat belts, safety equipment, and vehicle tools.
- Maintain records of vehicle inspections and compliance.
1. MIS & Reporting
Prepare and submit regular logistics reports covering:
- Daily Dispatch Report
- Delivery Status Report
- Pending Delivery Report
- Vehicle Utilization Report
- Fuel Consumption Report
- Vehicle Maintenance Report
- Driver Performance Report
- Delivery Cost Report
- Return / Damage Report
- Branch-wise Logistics Performance
1. Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the complete logistics team.
- Set targets and KPIs for logistics staff.
- Monitor team productivity and performance.
- Identify operational problems and implement solutions.
- Coordinate with senior management and other departments for smooth operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of FMCG logistics and distribution
- Excellent knowledge of route planning and fleet management
- Strong knowledge of warehouse and dispatch operations
- Good understanding of inventory movement and reverse logistics
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and logistics/ERP software
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple branches and delivery operations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict delivery timelines
