Infrastructure Engineer III - Linux Fleet Management
Job Profile Summary
Design, engineer, and continuously improve scalable Linux fleet management, automation, configuration management, patching, and lifecycle capabilities. Serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex infrastructure issues while driving automation, reliability, standardization, and operational maturity across the managed fleet.

Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable Linux fleet management, automated patching, and configuration-management solutions.
- Define and improve automated patching architectures, workflows, and operational controls.
- Design Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins,
or equivalent automation patterns and reusable engineering frameworks.
- Develop advanced Python, Bash, or comparable automation for complex infrastructure use cases.
- Establish configuration-as-code, source-control, testing, and deployment practices for infrastructure automation.
- Define technical standards for Linux fleet configuration, patching, lifecycle management, and operational readiness.
- Lead complex end-of-life, modernization, and technical-debt remediation initiatives.
- Diagnose complex, systemic, and cross-platform infrastructure failures and drive root-cause remediation.
- Analyze fleet-wide operational metrics to identify systemic reliability and efficiency improvements.
- Lead technical projects from design through implementation and operationalization.
- Evaluate infrastructure automation and configuration-management technologies and recommend adoption approaches.
- Partner with architecture, cloud, application, security, and infrastructure teams on complex technical initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and serve as a senior escalation point for production infrastructure issues.
Knowledge
- Linux system administration and operating system concepts.

Education
- High School Diploma or regional equivalent required.

Relevant industry certifications preferred. Examples include Linux, Red Hat, Ansible/Red Hat Automation, cloud, or infrastructure-related certifications. Equivalent technical experience may substitute for certifications.
Experience
5-8 years of relevant experience in Linux systems administration, infrastructure engineering, fleet management, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related technical role.
