Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Legal HR Associate with approximately 5 years of relevant experience to manage and support employee-related legal, contractual, compliance, immigration, and HR matters.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of employment laws, HR policies, employee documentation, contracts, statutory requirements, case management, immigration matters, and HR systems. The role requires close coordination with HR, Legal, Management, employees, external consultants, and government authorities as needed.
The candidate should be comfortable handling sensitive employee matters, maintaining confidentiality, interpreting applicable legal frameworks, and ensuring that HR practices remain aligned with organisational policies and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Legal & HR Management
- Manage employee-related legal and HR matters throughout the employee lifecycle, including joining, employment, transfers, promotions, disciplinary matters, separation, and exit formalities.
- Support HR and management teams with employee-related legal requirements and documentation.
- Review employee grievances, disputes, disciplinary matters, and other sensitive employee cases.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of employee records relating to legal and compliance matters.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organisational information.
2. Employment Contracts & Documentation
- Draft, review, and maintain employment agreements, appointment letters, amendments, NDAs, confidentiality agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, and other employee-related documents.
- Ensure employment contracts are aligned with applicable employment laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with internal/external legal counsel for complex contractual matters.
- Monitor contract renewals, amendments, notice periods, and other contractual obligations.
- Maintain proper records and tracking systems for employee contracts and legal documents.
3. Employment Law & Compliance
- Monitor and support compliance with applicable labour and employment laws, regulations, rules, notifications, and statutory requirements.
- Assist in interpreting legal provisions affecting employees and HR operations.
- Review HR policies and processes from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Support implementation and periodic review of employee-related policies.
- Identify potential legal/compliance risks in HR processes and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for statutory and regulatory compliance.
4. Employee Cases & Dispute Management
- Manage and maintain records of employee-related cases, complaints, disciplinary proceedings, show-cause notices, investigations, and disputes.
- Assist in conducting internal investigations and preparing relevant documentation.
- Draft responses, notices, warning letters, disciplinary communications, and other employee-related legal correspondence.
- Coordinate with external advocates, consultants, and legal advisors where required.
- Maintain a centralised tracker for ongoing and closed employee cases.
- Ensure timely follow-up and closure of employee legal matters.
5. Immigration & Work Authorisation
- Manage employee immigration and work authorisation matters, where applicable.
- Coordinate with employees, immigration consultants, legal advisors, and relevant authorities for visa, work permit, employment authorisation, residency, and related documentation.
- Track visa/work permit validity, renewals, expiry dates, and associated compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate immigration records and ensure timely action on renewals and documentation.
- Support employee relocation and international assignment processes from a legal and compliance perspective.
6. HR Systems & Employee Data
- Manage and maintain employee legal and contractual information within relevant HRMS/HRIS systems.
- Ensure employee records, contracts, legal documents, case information, and compliance data are accurately updated.
- Develop and maintain trackers, dashboards, and reports relating to contracts, cases, immigration, compliance, and employee documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through effective use of HR systems and automation.
- Ensure appropriate access controls and confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
7. Policies, Processes & Legal Framework
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies, procedures, SOPs, and employee handbooks.
- Ensure HR processes are consistent with applicable legal requirements and organizational policies.
- Conduct periodic reviews of employment-related processes to identify legal or operational gaps.
- Support implementation of new legal requirements and regulatory changes affecting employees.
- Assist management in assessing legal implications of proposed HR decisions and practices.
8. Employee Relations
- Partner with HR Business Partners and management on sensitive employee relations matters.
- Support resolution of employee grievances and workplace disputes in accordance with company policies and applicable law.
- Assist with disciplinary procedures and ensure appropriate documentation and due process.
- Provide guidance on employee communications involving contractual, disciplinary, policy, or legal matters.
9. Audit & Compliance Support
- Support internal and external audits relating to employee records, HR processes, contracts, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and evidence for compliance reviews.
- Track identified compliance gaps and coordinate corrective actions.
- Prepare periodic reports for HR and senior management on legal, compliance, case, and contractual matters.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is preferred/required.
- Additional qualification in Human Resources, Labour Law, Employment Law, Compliance, or a related field will be an advantage.
- Candidates with relevant legal and HR experience will be preferred.
Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience in HR Legal, Employment Law, Legal HR, Employee Relations, Labour Compliance, or a similar role.
- Experience working with employee contracts, employee cases, HR policies, compliance, and immigration matters is preferred.
- Experience in a corporate/organization setting with structured HR and legal processes is desirable.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
