We are looking for a Lead Adaptable Packaging Scientist to drive R&D; and commercialization of sustainable flexible packaging solutions and high-barrier coating technologies.
The role will focus on developing plastic-replacement solutions using paper, bio-based polymers, fiber-based substrates, and sustainable coating systems while achieving high moisture, oxygen, and aroma barrier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of sustainable flexible packaging films, substrates, and barrier coatings.
- Develop high-barrier solutions for moisture, oxygen, and aroma protection.
- Work on paper, bio-based polymers, molded fiber, hybrid, and multilayer packaging structures.
- Lead lab development, pilot trials, scale-up, coating, lamination, and sealability testing.
- Establish barrier testing, shelf-life, machinability, and packaging performance protocols.
- Validate solutions on FFS and other packaging lines.
- Benchmark technologies and develop solutions aligned with customer and market requirements.
- Support food-contact, regulatory, sustainability, compostability, and certification requirements.
- Drive product commercialization, cost modelling, customer trials, and technical demonstrations.
- Identify patentable innovations and support IP generation.
- Collaborate with converters, FMCG brands, startups, institutes, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
- Mentor R&D; team members and drive technical innovation projects.
Experience: 58 years in R&D; / Product Development
Education: M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Materials Science, Fiber Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, Sustainable Packaging, Green Chemistry, Industrial Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
