Role: TEAM LEAD/ Architect, Manufacturing Engineering (Facility & Tooling) - Assembly

Location: Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, MAHARASHTRA

Reporting to: Head (F&T;), Manufacturing EngineeringTeam name: Manufacturing Engineering- Assembly

About the Team and the Role The Manufacturing Engineering- Assembly team at Ather is responsible for delivering complete designs for manufacturing facilities and tooling, establishing manufacturing standards, driving digital transformation, and participating in process design and development for Battery and Vehicle Assemblies.

This role is for a TEAM LEAD/ Architect, Manufacturing Engineering (Facility & Tooling) - Assembly who will lead facility and tooling design, ordering, capacity planning, installation, and commissioning, while driving digital validation, PFMEA/EFMEA reviews, and process automation to achieve project cost, quality, and schedule goals.

Responsibilities

- Deliver complete design, ordering, capacity planning, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing facility and tooling for Battery and Vehicle Assemblies.

- Define and enforce manufacturing standards for facility and tooling, including visual factory, safety, lean, operator ergonomics, automation, and OLE/OEE.

- Lead periodic PFMEA/EFMEA reviews, drive proactive control mechanisms to reduce RPN, and review Control Plans and Reaction Plans.

- Drive digital validations, plant/process simulations, layout engineering, capacity constraint resolution, and digital transformation initiatives such as Digital Twin, MES, ERP, WMS, and QMS integration.

- Implement process automation, error proofing, in-station process control, robotics, IoT tools, and specialized machinery (SPM) to enhance throughput and reliability.





- Evaluate and integrate technological process innovations into the process automation roadmap, incorporating historical lessons learned into future process design.

- Provide budgetary estimates for ME-related project scopes and collaborate with stakeholders on factory layout planning covering line design, warehouse space, and ergonomics.

- Partner with Design teams on Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback and CTQs, and collaborate with Production teams to resolve operational constraints.

Experience and Qualifications

- B.Tech/B.E/M.tech/M.E. or equivalent with specialization in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation & Control.

- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering (ME) / Recent Product Introduction (NPI) activities in Automotive for an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

Must Have Competencies

- Design, develop, install, and commission manufacturing facilities, tooling, and battery assembly processes including module and pack assembly, cell placement, laser/spot welding, and epoxy dispensing.

- Execute process design, capacity planning, product launch leadership, and digital manufacturing implementations within high-volume automotive environments.

- Perform advanced DFA, DFM, DFS, and FMEA (Design, Process, Equipment) analyses to establish proactive quality and process controls.

- Deploy automation systems, robotics, line controls, vision systems, fixture designs,



and specialized machinery (SPM) to optimize assembly lines.

Good to Have Competencies

- Operate engineering design and simulation tools including CAD, eCAD, SolidWorks, DFM tools (TC/Vis-mockup), LabVIEW, Siemens TIA Portal, Process Simulate, and Vis-VSA.

- Execute Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R;, and calibration practices to maintain line precision.

- Program and integrate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), robotics, IoT tools, and digital twin platforms into line automation.

- Apply basic concepts and programming languages related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to optimize quality control and process parameters.
