Role Description

- We are looking for a hands-on Lead Full Stack Engineer / Vice President to join our Loans Technology team. The role is focused on building, modernizing, integrating and supporting strategic platforms across syndicated lending, secondary loan trading and regulatory reporting.
- The successful candidate will act as a senior technical lead responsible for solution design, application architecture, full stack development, platform engineering and technical delivery. The role requires strong engineering capability, deep understanding of enterprise systems, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, operations, QA, architects and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Experience with Finastra Loan IQ, including Loan IQ APIs, Loan IQ data model/data dictionary, event processing, batch interfaces and downstream integrations, will be a significant advantage.
- This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who can design robust solutions, write high-quality code, mentor engineers, solve production and performance issues, and drive engineering excellence across the lending platform.

Business Context The Lending Technology team supports critical platforms used for managing the full lifecycle of corporate lending products, including:·

- Syndicated loan origination and servicing
- Bilateral and agency lending
- Secondary loan trading
- Loan settlement and trade lifecycle events
- Interest, fee, repayment and accrual processing
- Regulatory, finance, risk and downstream reporting
- Integration with Loan IQ and enterprise banking platforms

The team works on both legacy modernization and greenfield development, including microservices, cloud-native platforms, APIs, event-driven architecture and modern web applications.

Your key responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

- Lead the design, development and delivery of strategic lending platform capabilities.
- Act as a hands-on technical lead across full stack engineering, backend services, APIs, UI components, integration layers and database solutions.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable and secure technical designs.
- Partner with principal architects, product owners, business analysts and operations teams to define technical solutions.
- Drive engineering best practices including clean code, reusable components, design patterns, automated testing and secure coding.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical direction to development teams.
- Review code, design documents, API contracts, database changes and deployment plans.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence, ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.

Lending Platform and Loan IQ Responsibilities

- Design and implement solutions involving Loan IQ, lending data flows and integration with upstream/downstream systems.
- Work with Loan IQ APIs and event frameworks where applicable.
- Understand and utilize the Loan IQ data dictionary/data model for interface development, reporting, reconciliation and data extraction.
- Support integration patterns involving Loan IQ batch feeds, real-time APIs, messaging, file-based interfaces and event-driven pipelines.
- Analyze lending lifecycle events such as deal setup, facility creation, drawdowns, rollovers, repricing, repayments, interest calculations, fee events and secondary trading activities.




- Design solutions for data synchronization between Loan IQ and strategic digital lending platforms.
- Investigate production issues related to Loan IQ, lending data, trade lifecycle flows, accounting, settlement and reporting.
- Collaborate with Loan IQ functional SMEs, operations teams and vendor specialists where required.

- Contribute to greenfield initiatives such as dbLending by designing and delivering scalable, maintainable and enterprise-grade platform capabilities aligned with strategic lending technology objectives.
- Lead the design and delivery of the deal migration capability, including scalable integration with the DB Lending interface, data mapping, validation, reconciliation and production-ready implementation aligned with enterprise lending platform standards.

Full Stack Development

- Design and develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST, GRAPHQL APIs, microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Build responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
- Develop scalable data access layers using Oracle, SQL, Hibernate, MyBatis, JPA and Liquibase.
- Implement secure APIs and integration services with authentication, authorization, audit logging and observability.
- Develop reusable components, technical frameworks and platform services.
- Apply test-driven development and behaviour-driven development practices using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or equivalent frameworks.
- Build reliable deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Teamcity, Git, Maven, Gradle, Artifactory and CI/CD tooling.
- Work with containerized and cloud-native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and cloud platforms.

Architecture and Solution Design

- Define application architecture for lending platform components and integrations.
- Design scalable and resilient solutions using microservices, APIs, messaging and event-driven architecture.
- Create technical design documents, API specifications, interface control documents and data mapping specifications.
- Evaluate trade-offs across performance, maintainability, security, cost and operational complexity.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, data governance and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives involving legacy lending systems, monolith decomposition and API enablement.
- Drive standardization of patterns for service design, error handling, logging, monitoring, reconciliation and exception management.

Production Stability and Support

- Provide Level 3 technical support for lending applications.
- Investigate and resolve production defects, performance issues, data breaks and interface failures.
- Perform root cause analysis and define long-term corrective actions.
- Improve system observability through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting and dashboards.
- Support release deployments, environment management and change management processes.
- Prepare build, deployment, rollback and operating instructions.
- Collaborate with QA, infrastructure, support and operations teams to ensure stable production delivery.

Your skills and experience

Core Engineering

- 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, Cloud and RESTful API development.
- Strong experience in full stack development using ReactJS or Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS and modern UI frameworks.
- Proven experience designing and building scalable enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles and clean architecture.
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.




- Strong SQL and database development experience, preferably with Oracle.
- Experience with ORM/data frameworks such as Hibernate, JPA or MyBatis.
- Experience with schema management tools such as Liquibase.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing and automated test frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle and Artifactory.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams and globally distributed environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Lending and Loan IQ Experience

Strong experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
