: Technical Lead – Spec-Driven AI & Cloud Systems (Amazon Kiro Specialist)

About the Role

We are seeking an creative Technical Lead / Senior Backend Engineer to drive our next generation of cloud applications using cutting-edge Spec-Driven Agentic Engineering. In this role, you will lead polyglot backend architectures while pioneering AI-assisted workflows centered on Amazon Kiro. Instead of traditional prompt-to-code iteration, you will leverage Kiro’s spec-first framework (requirements.md, design.md, tasks.md) to architect, design, and orchestrate complex microservice ecosystems.

You will balance high-level architectural governance, hands-on development, and team leadership to accelerate feature delivery, enforce type safety, and achieve operational efficiency across AWS cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Spec-Driven Architecture & Orchestration

● Lead feature development using Amazon Kiro’s spec-driven workflow (Requirements-First and Design-First variants), ensuring precise mapping between business needs and technical execution.

● Craft and maintain living specifications (requirements.md using EARS notation, design.md, and tasks.md) to establish context, architecture decisions, and audit trails before code generation.

● Enforce quality gates through Kiro’s Analyze Requirements capabilities to eliminate ambiguities, logical contradictions, and edge-case gaps early in the development lifecycle.

● Direct multi-wave, parallel task execution across agentic IDEs and CLI tools to accelerate development velocity while maintaining human-in-the-loop validation.

- Polyglot Backend & Cloud Engineering

● Architect, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using optimal tech choices based on throughput, latency, and business goals:

○ Node.js / TypeScript: For core business logic, API gateways, and rapid iteration.

○ Golang: For high-throughput concurrent microservices, worker pools, and channel-based streaming.

○ Rust: For compute-intensive hot paths, low-latency APIs, and memory-critical processing.

○ Python: For AI/ML model integration, data pipelines, and analytics APIs.





● Design event-driven and serverless architectures on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, RDS).

● Implement zero-downtime CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK/CloudFormation).

- AI Engineering & Innovation

● Establish steering documents, prompt-recipe libraries, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to align AI agents with enterprise design patterns and coding standards.

● Drive AI-powered modernization and legacy migrations (e.g., refactoring legacy codebases into modern microservices using spec-to-code agentic pipelines).

● Integrate generative AI capabilities, LLM APIs, and agentic workflows into production cloud services.

- Technical Leadership & Team Mentorship

● Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of backend and cloud engineers on spec-driven development practices.

● Conduct high-rigor spec reviews and code reviews, ensuring code safety, testability, and adherence to architecture principles.

● Partner closely with Product Managers and Business Analysts to translate product vision into structured Kiro user stories and acceptance criteria.

Required Qualifications Core Technical Skills

● Agentic AI & Spec-Driven Development: Hands-on experience with Amazon Kiro (IDE/CLI), Cursor, or Claude Code using spec-first methodologies. Proven capability with EARS notation requirements, architectural design docs, and task dependency decomposition.

● Backend Expertise: Deep proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Node.js (TypeScript), Golang, Rust, or Python.

● AWS Cloud & Microservices: Extensive experience designing distributed systems on AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL/RDS, EventBridge, S3).

● Database & Data Modeling: Expert-level knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL),



NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), ORMs/Query Builders (Prisma, GORM, Diesel, SQLx), and caching (Redis).

● DevOps & IaC: Strong background with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), AWS CDK or CloudFormation, and modern CI/CD automation.

Experience & Soft Skills

● 8+ years of professional backend/cloud engineering experience, with 2+ years in a Technical Lead, Project Lead, or Solutions Architect role.

● Direct experience applying AI-assisted development tools to real-world production environments.

● Outstanding communication skills to explain complex system designs through structured documentation and architectural diagrams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

● AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).

● Experience setting up custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to connect AI environments to enterprise context.

● Background in real-time stream processing (WebSockets, gRPC, Tokio/async runtimes).
