Job Title: Lead- Cell Process
Reporting To: Project & Plant Head
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Cell Process function at our advanced Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant. This role is responsible for establishing and optimizing TOPCon cell manufacturing processes, ensuring high-yield production, maintaining strict cleanroom standards, and driving continuous improvement. The incumbent will oversee all critical cell process steps, defect reduction initiatives, and process capability enhancement to achieve world‑class cell performance.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Phase – Greenfield Setup
Process Development & Setup:
· Lead process design, development, and qualification for TOPCon cell processes including texturing, diffusion, PECVD, PVD, metallization, and wet processing.
· Develop process parameters, SOPs, control plans, and work instructions for all cell manufacturing steps.
· Participate in FAT/SAT for process equipment and ensure validation meets ISO Class 1000–10,000 cleanroom standards.
· Collaborate with OEMs, technology partners, and engineering teams for smooth installation and commissioning.
System & Infrastructure Readiness:
· Ensure readiness of process tools, metrology equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
· Coordinate with utility and facility teams to establish stable process conditions.
· Implement process safety, chemical handling, and cleanroom discipline protocols.
Operation Phase – Post-Commissioning Responsibilities
Process Control & Optimization:
· Monitor and maintain control of key process parameters to meet target efficiency, yield, and throughput.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Lean, DOE, and SPC methodologies.
· Conduct structured process trials to improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) and reduce variability.
Defect Reduction & Troubleshooting:
· Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process deviations, yield losses, and recurring defects.
· Implement CAPA and long-term corrective measures to stabilize processes.
· Establish defect monitoring systems and drive reduction in critical defect categories.
Cleanroom Compliance & Standards:
· Ensure process adherence to cleanroom protocols and international manufacturing standards.
· Drive discipline for gowning, contamination control, and equipment cleanliness.
Team Leadership & Training:
· Build, manage, and mentor a team of process engineers.
· Provide training on SPC, DOE, defect analysis, cleanroom behaviour, and equipment interactions.
· Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain process records, yield reports, and defect logs as per QMS norms.
· Prepare MIS reports for management reviews and audits.
· Ensure up-to-date version control for SOPs, work instructions, and control plans..
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Project Phase:
· Timely development of process documents and SOPs.
· Successful equipment qualification and process stabilization.
· Readiness of cleanroom and process infrastructure.
Operational Phase:
· Achievement of yield, efficiency, and throughput targets.
· Reduction in defect levels and improvement in process capability.
· Closure of process deviations within defined timelines.
· Skill enhancement and training hours completed for engineering teams.
Qualifications:
· Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical Engineering.
Certifications/ Trainings:
· Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, SPC, FMEA, ISO 9001 QMS..
Experience:
· Experience: Minimum 15–25 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing with strong exposure to process engineering, yield improvement, and cleanroom operations.
· Preferred:
Experience in greenfield setup and ramp-up of N-Type TOPCon or similar high‑efficiency technologies.

Technical Expertise:
· Solar Cell Processes: Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Texturing, Cleaning.
· Process Tools: SPC, DOE, FMEA, RCA, CAPA, Control Charts.
· Standards: ISO, SEMI, NFPA awareness.

Working Conditions:
· This role will be carried out within a manufacturing plant environment located near Rajkot.
· Location: This role is based at our manufacturing facility located near Rajkot.
· Work Environment: The position operates primarily within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
· Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.
· Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centers, or other company locations may be required.
· Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
