Job Title: Lead- Cell Quality

Reporting To: Project & Plant Head

Job Purpose:

Involt Energy is seeking an experienced quality leader to head the Quality function for its state‑of‑the‑art Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining world‑class quality systems, ensuring stringent process control, and achieving high efficiency and reliability in N-Type TOPCon solar cell production. The incumbent will drive defect reduction, ensure compliance with international standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives within a controlled cleanroom environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Phase – Greenfield Setup

Quality System Establishment:

· Develop and implement a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, SEMI standards, and cleanroom protocols.

· Establish and standardize incoming, in-process, and final inspection frameworks for raw materials and finished cells.

· Implement SPC, FMEA, control charts, and other statistical quality tools for critical processes.

· Define and document quality procedures, SOPs, and inspection guidelines across all manufacturing stages.

Process Qualification & Compliance:

· Collaborate with engineering and OEM partners during FAT/SAT for equipment qualification from a quality standpoint.

· Ensure cleanroom compliance aligned with ISO Class 1000–10,000 specifications.

· Validate process capability and control plans during line setup and ramp-up..

Operation Phase – Post-Commissioning Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control:

· Monitor quality parameters across the cell manufacturing line to ensure target efficiency, yield, and reliability.

· Drive defect identification, classification, RCA, and CAPA implementation for process-related issues.

· Establish strong controls for electrical testing, optical inspection, micro-crack detection, and reliability checks.

Compliance & Audits:

· Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, SEMI, customer-specific standards, and regulatory norms.





· Lead internal quality audits and support external certification and customer audits.

· Maintain documentation and traceability systems for all quality-related records.

Continuous Improvement:

· Lead yield improvement and defect reduction efforts using Six Sigma, Lean, and structured problem‑solving methods.

· Continuously enhance measurement systems, inspection accuracy, and data-driven analysis.

Team Leadership & Training:

· Build and lead a high-performing team of quality engineers, inspectors, and analysts.

· Conduct training on SPC, defect analysis, cleanroom discipline, quality tools, and system usage.

· Foster a culture emphasizing precision, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Documentation:

· Prepare and present MIS reports, quality dashboards, defect trend charts, and customer quality reports.

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality metrics, audit records, CAPA reports, and process compliance data.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Project Phase:

· Timely establishment of QMS and inspection systems.

· Successful qualification of quality processes and readiness for production ramp-up.

· Cleanroom and global standard compliance.

Operational Phase:

· Yield enhancement and progressive defect reduction.

· Achievement of target Cp/Cpk for critical processes.

· Customer complaint reduction and timely CAPA closure.

· Audit readiness and successful certification outcomes.

· Training hours and competency development of the quality team.

Qualifications:

· Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical Engineering.

Certifications/ Trainings:

· Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, SPC, FMEA, ISO 9001 QMS..

Experience:

· Experience: Minimum 15–25 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing with strong exposure to process engineering and quality systems.

· Preferred:



experience in greenfield project setup and ramp‑up of N-Type TOPCon or equivalent advanced technologies.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Expertise:

· Solar Cell Processes: Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Texturing, Cleaning.

· Quality Tools: SPC, FMEA, RCA, CAPA, Control Charts.

· Standards: ISO 9001, SEMI, NFPA compliance.

Core Competencies:

Working Conditions:

· This role will be carried out within a manufacturing plant environment located near Rajkot.

· Location: This role is based at our manufacturing facility located near Rajkot.

· Work Environment: The position operates primarily within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

· Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.

· Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centers, or other company locations may be required.

· Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
