Position: Lab Manager

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Experience: 5–8+ Years

Reporting To: Operations Head / Management

Centre Responsibility: 2 Diagnostic Centres

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Lab Manager to oversee the day-to-day laboratory operations of two diagnostic centres in Bengaluru.

The candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory staff, maintaining quality standards, monitoring turnaround time, ensuring proper sample processing, managing inventory and equipment, coordinating with doctors and management, and ensuring smooth operations across both centres.

The ideal candidate should have solid experience in diagnostic laboratory operations and team management, with the ability to independently manage multiple centres.

Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Operations

- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations across two diagnostic centres.
- Ensure smooth and timely processing of samples and reports.
- Monitor sample collection, processing, testing and reporting workflows.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory SOPs and operational protocols.
- Monitor TAT and take corrective action for delays or operational issues.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth patient and sample flow.

1. Team Management

- Supervise laboratory technicians, phlebotomists and other laboratory staff.
- Prepare and manage staff schedules and shift allocation.
- Monitor staff performance, productivity and attendance.
- Train and guide team members on SOPs, safety and quality procedures.
- Handle staff-related operational issues and maintain discipline.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability across both centres.

1. Quality Control & Compliance

- Ensure proper implementation of quality control procedures.




- Monitor internal QC and quality-related activities.
- Maintain laboratory documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laboratory safety and quality standards.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Identify errors, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.

1. Inventory & Equipment Management

- Monitor stock levels of reagents, consumables and other laboratory materials.
- Coordinate timely procurement and avoid stock-outs.
- Monitor expiry, wastage and proper storage of laboratory materials.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration and servicing.
- Escalate equipment breakdowns and ensure timely resolution.

1. Coordination & Reporting

- Coordinate with pathologists, doctors, centre management and operations teams.
- Handle operational issues across both centres.
- Prepare regular MIS and laboratory performance reports.
- Monitor key operational indicators including TAT, sample rejection, productivity and quality.
- Report major operational issues to management with suitable corrective actions.

1. Patient & Service Quality

- Ensure professional and timely laboratory services.
- Monitor patient complaints related to laboratory services.
- Work with the team to resolve service issues.
- Maintain high standards of patient experience and laboratory service quality.

Required Qualifications
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology,



Life Sciences or a relevant discipline.
- Relevant laboratory management or supervisory certification will be an added advantage.

Required Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in diagnostic laboratory operations.
- Preferably 2–3+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience managing multiple diagnostic centres/branches will be highly preferred.
- Candidates currently working as Lab Manager, Laboratory Manager, Lab Operations Manager, Senior Lab Supervisor or equivalent may apply.
- Candidates from Senior Lab Technician/Supervisor backgrounds may be considered if they have strong team-handling and operational management experience.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in diagnostic laboratory operations.
- Capable of independently managing two centres.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good understanding of laboratory quality and operational processes.
- Able to travel between the two centres as required.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Candidates with NABL/accreditation exposure will be preferred.

Important Requirement Candidates must have practical experience in managing laboratory teams and operations. Purely technical/bench-level experience without supervisory or management exposure may not be suitable for this position.

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Centre Responsibility: 2 Diagnostic Centres

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
