HGSI endeavours to become the nucleus for Hartree’s global enterprise functions including technology and engineering, accounting and financial reporting, treasury, operations, risk management, compliance, among other areas.
Position: KYC Analyst
Job Summary The KYC Analyst is responsible for performing customer and counterparty due diligence to support Hartree’s global compliance program. The role focuses on collecting and analysing due diligence information, performing sanctions and reputational screening, and preparing complete and well-documented KYC files for internal review.
The KYC Analyst works closely with senior KYC team members to ensure timely and accurate onboarding and review of counterparties.
Location: Hyderabad
Position Type: Full-time, onsite
Direct Reporting: HGSI Local Leadership team, Hyderabad
Functional Reporting: Head of Corporate Compliance
Shift Time: 2 PM to 11 PM IST, with flexibility to support other regions
Work Arrangement: No hybrid work option; all 5 days working from office is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Collect, review, and verify corporate due diligence documentation, including legal existence and ownership information
- Prepare KYC files for customers, suppliers, agents, and other counterparties in accordance with internal procedures
- Perform sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), and adverse media screening using approved screening tools
- Analyse ownership structures and identify relevant shareholders or beneficial owners based on documented information
- Clearly document findings, screening results, and supporting evidence within KYC files
- Identify potential risk indicators and escalate issues or gaps to senior team members in a timely manner
- Track and follow up on outstanding documentation and remediation items
- Support periodic reviews and responses to bank or counterparty KYC requests
- Maintain organised, accurate, and audit-ready KYC records
Requirements: Education, Competencies & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in KYC, client due diligence, AML, or a related compliance function.
- Previous working experience in energy or commodity trading is advantageous.
- Familiarity with sanctions screening, ownership concepts, and corporate due diligence documentation.
- Solid written and verbal English communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
- Ability to work effectively with global stakeholders across time zones.
- Proficiency in additional languages, including Mandarin Chinese or Spanish, is a plus.
