Junior Planner – Trip Planning & Operations
Rally (rally.co) |Work from office
About Rally
Rally is a crowd-powered bus transportation platform that gets fans and event-goers to the games, concerts, and festivals they care about. Riders book seats on trips from their city to major events, and trips confirm once enough riders sign up. We don't own buses. We work with a network of charter operators, which keeps us asset-light and lets us launch trips in current markets quickly. Our events range from NFL games and college football to the FIFA World Cup and the Indy 500.
About the Role
Every Rally trip starts with planning: when the bus leaves, where it picks up, how many riders it needs to run, and which operator will run it. As a Junior Planner, you'll own much of that work alongside Anwesha. You'll build trip schedules, raise RFQs through our procurement team, set rider thresholds, and keep customers informed.
This is a hands-on role with a lot of exposure to how the business actually runs. It's a good fit for someone who's organized, likes working with numbers, and wants to learn transportation and event operations from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Build trip timings. Set departure, pickup, and return times for each trip based on event start times, travel distance, traffic, venue parking and drop-off rules, and post-event crowd patterns.
- Raise RFQs with procurement. Put together clear, complete quote requests covering route, dates,
timings, vehicle type, and capacity. Follow up until quotes come back, then help compare options on price and reliability.
- Set trip thresholds. Work with the planning lead to set the minimum rider count each trip needs to confirm.
- Communicate with customers. Send trip confirmations, schedule updates, pickup details, and cancellation notices.
- Keep trip data accurate. Make sure trip timings, thresholds, and operator details are correct and up to date across our internal tools and spreadsheets.
- Support the planning lead. Help with ad hoc event research, and new-market setup as the event calendar grows.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, travel, event planning, or a similar coordination role. Passionate and Enthusiast Freshers with strong learning intent are welcome.
- Strong organization and attention to detail. A wrong departure time means riders miss kickoff.
- Comfort with Google Sheets, including basic formulas, lookups, and keeping large trackers clean.
- Clear written English for both vendor and customer communication.
- Comfort working with numbers, especially simple cost-per-seat and break-even math.
- Ability to manage many trips at once and stay calm when things change close to an event.
- Availability to work Eastern hours including some evenings and weekends around event days.
