We assist customers dealing with financial stress arising from credit cards, personal loans, app-based loans, education loans, business loans, and other unsecured loans.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lawyer / Legal Executive to join our legal team and handle customer-facing legal support, documentation, case review, and debt-related matters.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian legal procedures, consumer rights, banking/recovery practices, legal notices, and documentation, along with the ability to communicate clearly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Review customer cases involving unsecured loans and credit-card dues.
- Examine loan documents, notices, statements, agreements, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide customers with general legal guidance regarding their debt-related matters.
- Assist customers facing inappropriate or unlawful recovery practices and harassment.
- Review and respond to legal notices received from lenders, collection agencies, or other parties.
- Prepare and review legal correspondence, notices, replies, declarations, undertakings, and customer documentation.
- Maintain proper documentation and case records for every assigned customer.




- Coordinate with customers to collect required legal and financial documents.
- Assist in settlement-related documentation and communication.
- Explain legal procedures and documentation to customers in simple, understandable language.
- Monitor case progress and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Coordinate with senior legal professionals/advocates wherever court representation or specialized legal action is required.
- Ensure all customer communication remains professional, legally appropriate, and properly documented.
- Stay updated with relevant RBI guidelines, consumer protection laws, recovery-agent regulations, banking practices, and applicable legal developments.
- Work closely with the sales and customer-support teams to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to legal support.

Candidate Requirements
- LLB / BA LLB / BBA LLB from a recognized university.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council will be an advantage.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh law graduates with strong legal knowledge may also apply.
- Good understanding of:
- Consumer protection laws
- Banking and financial recovery practices
- Loan and credit-card documentation
- Legal notices and replies
- Contract basics
- Debt-recovery procedures
- Customer rights
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.




- Hindi and English proficiency is required.
- Ability to handle sensitive and financially distressed customers professionally.
- Strong documentation and drafting skills.
- Good computer and MS Office/Google Workspace skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in banking, fintech, debt recovery, consumer law, or financial-services legal work.
- Experience drafting legal notices, replies, agreements, or affidavits.
- Knowledge of RBI recovery-agent guidelines and related regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to independently analyse customer cases and identify the appropriate legal course of action.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.

This role is primarily focused on legal advisory, documentation, customer assistance, and case coordination. TrueSettle does not act as a bank, NBFC, lender, or collection agency.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday
