Role Description The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level II Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in India. The technician will perform NDT inspections using approved methods (such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, or visual testing) to evaluate materials, components, and welds without causing damage. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting tests in accordance with standards and procedures, interpreting and evaluating results, and documenting findings in detailed inspection reports.
The role involves working closely with engineers, supervisors, and clients to ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, and quality requirements,
as well as maintaining testing records and assisting in the training of junior personnel as needed. The technician may be required to travel to client sites within India and work in industrial environments, following all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as NDT Level II in one or more methods (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT, VT), with the ability to perform independent inspections and evaluations.
- Robust technical skills in setup, calibration, and operation of NDT equipment, along with accurate interpretation of test indications.
- Solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, and procedures (such as ASME, ASTM, ISO, or industry-specific guidelines) and compliance requirements.
- Attention to detail in recording test results, preparing inspection reports, and maintaining organized documentation and records.
- Ability to work safely in industrial and field environments, including adherence to safety rules, use of PPE, and hazard recognition.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and clients, and for explaining findings clearly.
- Problem-solving skills to identify potential defects or issues and suggest appropriate follow-up actions or retesting when necessary.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in engineering or a related field, and prior experience in NDT or quality inspection in industrial settings.
- Willingness to travel to different sites within India, work flexible hours when required, and participate in ongoing training and skill development.
