Role Purpose:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the company, acting as the custodian of costs, compliance and financial efficiency. The CFO ensures that every expense is justified Funds, aligns with company strategy, and drives profitability improvement. This role is central to governance, reporting, and supporting all HODs to achieve financial discipline. Also a key responsibility is to ensure timely & accuracy of books of accounting with actual transactions. Also ensure funds discharge accurately & timely for payables being authorized in the Bank.
Key Responsibilities
Area Description Financial Stewardship Oversee financial planning, accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance & Payments in timely & accurate manners. Cost Control Scrutinize all costs and ensure only logical and value-adding expenses are approved hampering operations without reduce control finance cost. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts & Present on monthly basic to management. Operational Efficiency Collaborate with HODs to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability. Governance & Compliance Ensure adherence to statutory, tax, and banking compliance requirements & Listed company norms in timely and accurate manners avoiding all penalties. Risk Management Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies whether is contractor/works/ Payment or counter party risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts and Books of Account: Maintain accurate books of accounts up to finalisation. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities including provisions, reconciliations, and ledger controls. Ensure timely bank, party,
and sub-ledger reconciliations for corporate office and plant operations.
- Balance Sheet and Financial Statements: Prepare and finalise financial statements as per Ind AS, Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI requirements. Maintain supporting schedules, reconciliations, and provide financial insights to management, auditors, bankers, and rating agencies.
- Quarterly Results and Listed Company Reporting: Manage preparation and submission of quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial results within regulatory timelines. Prepare audit committee and board reporting packs, disclosures, and supporting documents.
- Listed Company and Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with SEBI (LODR), Companies Act, FEMA, RBI, FSSAI, and other applicable regulations. Coordinate with Company Secretary for board matters, filings, approvals, and statutory requirements.
- Direct Taxation: Manage income tax compliance including advance tax, TDS/TCS, tax audit, and return filing. Support tax assessments, deferred tax calculations, and coordination with tax consultants.
- Indirect Taxation - GST: Ensure timely GST compliance including return filing, ITC reconciliation, e-invoicing, e-way bills, and GST audits. Handle departmental communications, notices, and compliance requirements.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, cost, secretarial, and bank audits. Prepare audit schedules,
resolve queries, and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Internal Financial Controls and Systems: Strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs, approval processes, and segregation of duties. Drive ERP improvements, automation, and data accuracy across corporate and plant operations.
- Inventory, Cost Records and Plant Accounting: Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and stores. Ensure proper stock controls, consumption accounting, and cost record maintenance.
- Banking, Working Capital and Fund Raising: Manage banking operations, working capital requirements, and financial documentation. Support loan proposals, credit ratings, lender interactions, treasury activities, and fund-raising initiatives.
- MIS, Budgeting and Variance Analysis: Prepare monthly MIS reports covering profitability, margins, working capital, cash flow, and key financial ratios. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with corrective actions.
- Team, Systems and Growth: Lead and develop the finance team while coordinating with plant finance operations. Drive process improvements, ERP digitization, and support business growth through effective financial management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA/CPA/CFA or equivalent, 10 year + in Listed Company will be preferable.
- 15+ years in finance leadership
- Experience in FMCG/manufacturing finance
- Preferred - Edible Oil Industry experience.
- Has handled turnover of more than 500 CR, high volume of transaction.
- Secure in Careers average 3-5 years minimum in each company.
- Preferred more than 10 years in a single company.
