IT Techno-Functional Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Techno-Functional Consultant to manage and support the organization's Business Central ecosystem and related business applications.

The role requires a strong combination of functional business process knowledge and technical understanding, with hands-on exposure to Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse Management, integrations, reporting, extensions and operational processes.

The incumbent will be responsible for understanding business requirements, solution design, Business Central configuration, coordination with development and technology partners, testing, integrations, data migration, user training, deployment and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Requirement & Solution Design

- Gather, analyze and document business requirements from Finance, Procurement, Sales, Inventory, Warehouse and Operations teams.
- Translate business requirements into scalable Dynamics 365 Business Central functional and technical solutions.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend standard Business Central functionality before proposing customizations.
- Prepare functional requirement documents, solution design documents, process flows, configuration documents and technical requirement notes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and system enhancements.

2. Dynamics 365 Business Central – Functional
- Configure and support Business Central across:
- Finance
- Sales
- Purchasing
- Inventory
- Warehouse Management
- Fixed Assets
- Banking
- Budgeting and Dimensions
- Financial Reporting
- Support Sales Order Management, Purchase Orders, Vendor Management, Customer Management and Item Master processes.
- Support Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Assembly, Planning and Replenishment processes.
- Support Finance processes including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation, Cash Flow and budgeting.
- Provide functional support for business users and resolve process/system-related issues.

3. Techno-Functional & Development Coordination
- Work closely with developers on AL extensions, custom pages, reports, workflows, APIs, events and integrations.
- Review technical feasibility of proposed customizations and ensure alignment with approved business requirements.
- Validate development deliverables through functional testing and business scenarios.
- Coordinate with technology partners for system enhancements, customizations and application support.




- Understand Business Central architecture, extensions and integration frameworks sufficiently to participate in technical discussions.

4. Integrations & Applications
- Support integrations between Business Central and:
- POS systems
- Banking platforms
- E-commerce platforms
- Warehouse Management Systems
- Power BI
- Power Automate
- Microsoft 365
- Third-party applications
- Coordinate API, REST, OData, web services and other integration requirements with technical teams.
- Support integration mapping, data validation, issue resolution and testing.
- Ensure smooth flow of master and transactional data across integrated applications.

5. Data Migration & Implementation
- Support master data migration, opening balances and data validation.
- Work with configuration packages, Excel-based uploads and data migration templates.
- Participate in cutover planning, deployment and go-live readiness.
- Coordinate UAT, defect tracking, issue resolution and business sign-offs.
- Support Business Central implementation, rollout, upgrade and enhancement projects.

6. Testing, Training & Support
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases and UAT documentation.
- Conduct configuration testing, system integration testing and UAT support.
- Conduct user demonstrations, workshops and training sessions.
- Develop SOPs, user guides and training documentation.
- Provide post-go-live support and perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Recommend continuous improvements based on user feedback and operational requirements.

7. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as a bridge between business users, internal IT teams, developers and implementation partners.
- Coordinate with vendors and implementation partners to ensure timely delivery of agreed requirements.
- Review and validate vendor deliverables against approved specifications.
- Track issues, enhancements, dependencies and project timelines.
- Maintain clear documentation and regular communication with stakeholders.

Required Techno-Functional Skills
- 6–10 years of relevant experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / Dynamics NAV.
- Strong hands-on experience across Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory and Warehouse Management.
- Experience in Business Central implementation, rollout, upgrade and support projects.
- Strong understanding of business processes and ability to translate them into system solutions.
- Experience coordinating with developers for AL extensions, customizations, reports and integrations.
- Understanding of APIs, events, web services and integration architecture.
- Experience with Business Central administration, users, permissions, workflows and approval processes.
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate and Microsoft 365.
- Experience in UAT, data migration, deployment and post-go-live support.
- Robust documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.

Industry Experience – Mandatory Experience in Food & Beverage or Retail is required.

Experience in F&B;, restaurant operations, central kitchens, inventory-intensive businesses, warehouse operations, POS integration or multi-location environments will be highly relevant.

Preferred Qualifications

- Graduate in Science, Commerce, Finance, IT or a related discipline.
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate – preferred.
- Experience with POS, banking, e-commerce and warehouse system integrations.
- Exposure to Power Platform, Power BI and Microsoft 365 integrations.
