Role Description The Inpatient Coding QA role is a full-time, on-site position based in Aurangabad. This role focuses on performing quality assurance reviews of inpatient medical coding to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory and payer guidelines.
Responsibilities include auditing coded records, identifying discrepancies, providing constructive feedback to coders, and documenting findings in a clear, standardized format. The position also involves collaborating with coding teams and leadership to resolve issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to coding education and training.
The Inpatient
Coding QA professional will use established quality management processes and tools to drive high coding standards and support overall revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, with experience applying these principles to inpatient coding or healthcare documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Management, including developing, implementing, or following structured quality processes and performance metrics.
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Auditing, with the ability to review records, identify variances, and report findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Candidates should possess understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or comparable regulated-environment standards, and be able to apply similar discipline to healthcare coding quality.
- Solid knowledge of inpatient coding guidelines (ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG methodologies) and relevant payer and compliance regulations.
- Prior experience in inpatient coding or coding quality review within a hospital or RCM environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certification such as CCS, CIC, or equivalent coding credential is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Aurangabad and meet productivity and quality targets consistently.
