Job Summary The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of core IT infrastructure including servers, networking, backups, security, and device management. This role involves managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, supporting users and systems, and ensuring operational resilience. Experience with technologies like Hyper-V, Veeam, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender, SonicWall, and Unifi is highly preferred.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Infrastructure Management

- Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Hyper-V).
- Ensure high availability, performance monitoring, and patching of server infrastructure.
- Manage backup and recovery using Veeam for both virtual and physical workloads.
- Maintain secure FTP/SFTP configurations and monitor access.

2. Identity & Access Management (IAM)

- Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including SSO and RBAC policies.
- Manage endpoint security and compliance using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender.
- Oversee user lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding), MFA, and conditional access policies

3. Networking & Security

- Support VPN configurations and troubleshoot connectivity issues (SoftEther VPN experience is a plus).
- Administer SonicWall firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, NAT, and security policies.
- Manage network infrastructure including Unifi switches and access points.
- Monitor network health and usage with tools such as PRTG.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking with tools like Rapid7.

4. Collaboration & Cloud Platforms

- Support and manage Microsoft SharePoint Online environments for document collaboration.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 service administration including license and policy management.
- Provide integration support for cloud and on-prem services where applicable.

5. Monitoring, Patch & Incident Management

- Monitor infrastructure health, uptime, CPU/memory usage using PRTG.
- Perform OS and application patching cycles across all managed endpoints.
- Respond to infrastructure incidents,



conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Document infrastructure changes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

6. Backup, Disaster Recovery and Compliance

- Ensure regular backup integrity testing and DR readiness using Veeam.
- Maintain system documentation and support compliance efforts related to data retention, encryption, and access control.
- Support off-site and cloud-based recovery operations.(e.g.,AWS glacier)

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with effective communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or infrastructure operations.
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux systems, Active Directory, Office 365, Google Workspace.
- Working knowledge of networking, cloud services, and ITSM tools.
- Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), AWS, Azure, or ITIL are preferred.

General Responsibilities

Flexibility: The post holder may be required to work at any of the Mitra sites in line with service & operational needs. The post holder may be required to undertake such other duties temporarily, or on a continuing basis as may be required commensurate with this role. This may include periods of time working on client premises and / or internationally.
