About the Role

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park is supporting the development and strengthening of the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the State of Meghalay.

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park invites applications for the position of Incubation Manager – to lead the day-to-day incubation and entrepreneurship development activities at the State. The selected professional will act as the primary point of contact for entrepreneurs at the State level and will be responsible for identifying promising ideas, supporting entrepreneurs through incubation, facilitating prototype development, connecting startups with mentors and ecosystem resources, and coordinating with the Project Team.

The position requires a hands-on professional who can work closely with entrepreneurs, government departments, educational institutions, mentors, investors, industry partners and other ecosystem stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Site.
- Conduct startup diagnostics and idea feasibility testing to understand the needs, potential and key gaps of participating entrepreneurs.
- Support idea-stage applicants in converting validated ideas into working prototypes, including facilitating access to technical experts, infrastructure and relevant resources.
- Develop stage-specific support plans for startups and facilitate appropriate mentorship, technical assistance and business support.
- Facilitate mentoring and monitor the progress of mentoring engagements.
- Support startups in areas such as business model development, customer validation, pricing, branding, market strategy and growth planning.
- Facilitate market linkages, pilot opportunities, industry connections and access to relevant government schemes, grants and national incubation programmes.
- Organise and coordinate boot camps, workshops,



startup clinics, ideathons and entrepreneurship development activities at the district level.
- Work closely with the State Government, Entrepreneurship Development Cells and local ecosystem stakeholders to identify and onboard promising entrepreneurs.
- Maintain startup records, track milestones and ensure timely updating of MIS portal and other programme documentation.
- Coordinate with Government Officials and submit periodic reports on incubation activities and startup outcomes.

Desired Candidate’s Profile

- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in startup incubation, entrepreneurship development, innovation management, accelerator programmes, startup consulting, venture building or ecosystem development.
- Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience in incubation centres, accelerators, technology business incubators, State Startup Missions, government entrepreneurship programmes, innovation centres, startup support organisations or development agencies.
- Prior experience of working with a State Government, State Startup Mission, District Industries Centre or government-led entrepreneurship programme will be an added advantage, particularly at the district or grassroots level.
- Candidates should have demonstrated experience of working directly with entrepreneurs and startups across different stages, including idea, prototype, early-revenue and growth stages.




- Candidates should have a good understanding of startup business models, customer discovery, Business Model Canvas, market validation, product development, fundraising, government schemes and incubation processes.
- Candidates with experience in building partnerships and coordinating with government departments, industry, mentors, investors, academic institutions and other ecosystem stakeholders will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Khasi or Garo is a must and knowledge of English will be preferred.

Educational Qualification

- A postgraduate degree in Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Technology Management or a related discipline would be preferred.
- Candidates with an engineering, technology or other relevant undergraduate qualification combined with substantial experience in startup incubation and ecosystem development may also be considered.
- An MBA/PGDM or specialised qualification in entrepreneurship, innovation or startup management would be an advantage.

Nature of the Position The position is expected to be highly field-oriented and entrepreneurial in nature. The Incubation Manager will not function merely as an administrative coordinator but will be expected to actively work with entrepreneurs, understand their challenges, facilitate appropriate interventions and contribute to the development of a sustainable district-level startup ecosystem. The selected candidate may be required to travel within the State and for outreach, entrepreneur meetings, institutional engagement, workshops, startup visits and ecosystem-building activities.

Pay: ₹695,299.62 - ₹833,899.37 per year
