Purpose - Why does this role exist?

The Head of Quality will lead and manage the entire quality function ensuring consistent product performance, compliance with customer specifications, and adherence to international quality standards. This role is critical in maintaining high-quality benchmarks across raw materials, in-process controls, and finished goods and allied areas of business.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

Critical Tasks

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with business goals

- Establish a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and customer focus

- Lead and mentor the quality assurance and quality control teams

2. Product Quality Management

- Ensure consistency in coil coating & Protective Coating paints (polyester, SMP, PVDF, PU systems)

- Monitor critical parameters such as:
- Adhesion

- Flexibility (T-bend)

- Gloss & color consistency

- Corrosion resistance

- Cure performance

- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

3. Customer & Technical Interface

- Handle customer complaints and technical queries

- Work closely with key clients in pre-coated metal industry

- Support product approvals and new customer qualifications

4. Process & System Control

- Implement and maintain QMS (ISO 9001 or equivalent)

- Drive SPC, Six Sigma, Lean quality initiatives





- Ensure quality control at all stages:
- Raw materials

- Batch processing

- Final inspection

5. Supplier Quality Management

- Approve and audit raw material suppliers

- Ensure incoming material quality (resins, pigments, additives, solvents)

- Develop alternate vendors with consistent quality standards

6. Compliance & Testing

- Ensure compliance with industry standards like:
- ASTM

- ISO

- Coil coating-specific standards (e.g., ECCA guidelines)

- Oversee laboratory testing

- Salt spray

- QUV weathering

- MEK rub

- Impact resistance

7. New Product Development (NPD) Support

- Collaborate with R&D; for new product validation

- Scale-up trials and commercialization support

- Ensure quality readiness for recent launches

Educational Background and Work Experience

Educational Background:

BE/ B.Tech in Chemical / Paints Tech/ Msc.

 more than 10+ years in paints/coatings industry

 Minimum 5+ years in leadership role and strong in handling team.

 Strong experience in Paints industries is essential
