HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT – PRIMARY SCHOOL

Department: Academic / Curriculum & Academic Development

Classes: 3 to 5 , Location: Masab Tank, Hyderabad

Subjects : Maths / English / Hindi / Telugu

Job Purpose To lead and manage academic planning, curriculum implementation, teacher development, assessments, and academic quality for Classes 3 to 5 across TS, Maharashtra, Delhi, Kanpur, and Franchise branches, ensuring consistency in academic standards and effective teaching-learning practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Planning & Curriculum

- Manage academic requirements for Classes 3 to 5 across all assigned regions and branches.
- Prepare day-wise academic schedules, portion plans, and academic calendars.
- Prepare examination schedules and monitor timely completion of the prescribed syllabus.
- Develop and review Question Papers, Practice Papers, Block Test Materials, Bridge Course Materials, and Holiday Homework.
- Monitor curriculum implementation and ensure uniform academic standards across branches.
- Review academic progress and recommend corrective measures wherever required.

2. Teacher Training & Professional Development

- Plan and conduct Qualified Enhancement Programmes (PEP) and teacher training sessions.
- Organize and coordinate guest lectures, workshops, and academic enrichment programmes.
- Guide teachers on effective teaching methodologies, lesson planning, assessment practices, and classroom delivery.
- Mentor teachers to strengthen subject knowledge, teaching effectiveness, and classroom management.
- Identify teacher development needs and plan appropriate training interventions.

3. Branch & Academic Coordination





- Conduct regular branch visits to monitor academic standards and curriculum implementation.
- Coordinate with Franchise Academic Teams to ensure effective academic delivery.
- Conduct meetings with teachers and academic teams to review progress, challenges, and action plans.
- Provide academic guidance and support to branches whenever required.
- Follow up on academic action plans and ensure timely implementation.

4. Recruitment & Teacher Selection

- Support the Teacher Recruitment Process for Primary School subjects.
- Conduct and evaluate Demo Classes as part of the teacher selection process.
- Prepare and review subject-related question papers and academic assessment materials for recruitment.
- Participate in candidate interviews and academic assessments.
- Evaluate candidates and provide structured academic feedback.
- Conduct correction and evaluation of answer scripts as required.

5. Academic Quality & Monitoring

- Ensure consistency in academic standards, curriculum implementation, and teaching practices across branches.
- Identify academic gaps and recommend appropriate corrective and improvement measures.
- Monitor teacher performance and provide constructive academic feedback.
- Develop and implement innovative academic practices to improve teaching and learning outcomes.




- Review academic performance data and identify areas requiring intervention.
- Maintain academic records, reports, assessment materials, and documentation as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Primary School academic framework.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Arts, Science, Commerce, or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. / equivalent teacher-training qualification is preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Education, a relevant subject, or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with relevant teacher-training, curriculum-development, or academic leadership certifications will be preferred.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an academic leadership / supervisory role such as Academic Coordinator, Primary Coordinator, Senior Academic Faculty, HOD, or equivalent.
- Experience handling Primary School academics, preferably Classes 3 to 5, is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning, lesson planning, assessment design, question-paper development, and academic monitoring.
- Experience in conducting teacher training, PEPs, workshops, and professional development programmes.
- Willingness and ability to travel across branches for academic monitoring, training, and support.
