Job Summary:

The Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) will lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations for the RE AMS business unit. The accountability includes overseeing sourcing (components & services), warehousing, logistics, and material planning functions to ensure efficient and cost-effective management of resources. The SCM Head plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, improving supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of products/services to meet the ambitious goals of Suzlon.

The Head also ensures that external vendors and service providers contribute to the company's overall operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Management, Sourcing and Procurement:

- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure the procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices inline with Suzlon Group directives.
- Manage key supplier relationships, on the direction from Group, wherever required to leverage scale. The services procurement is based on OMS needs and is to be supported at the State level.
- Contract Negotiation with service providers, ensuring that terms are favorable (e.g., penalties for non-compliance, confidentiality agreements, etc.), risks are minimized, and both parties have a clear understanding of expected Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in critical areas such as response time, service quality, and compliance.
- Fosters strategic partnership approach with key vendors by building strong, collaborative relationships, ensuring alignment in terms of goals, expectations, and outcomes by maintaining high levels of service delivery.




- Defines process to support business to identify and select services vendors through thorough due diligence, and establishing a criteria for evaluating vendors based on factors such as past performance, financial stability, technical capability, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with the companys values (e.g., human rights, sustainability, diversity, etc.).
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including sourcing alternatives and contingency planning. Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost expectations.

2. Warehousing and Inventory Management:

- Reduce downtiem due to material availability. Oversee warehousing operations, ensuring optimal storage conditions, efficient space utilization, and safety compliance. Optimize warehouse processes, including receiving, storage, picking, and shipping, to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize stockouts.
- Ensure accurate and timely tracking of inventory, with regular audits to maintain data integrity.

3. Logistics and Distribution:

- Develop and manage logistics strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to transportation and distribution.




- Monitor and analyze logistics performance, implementing improvements to reduce lead times and transportation costs.

4. Material Planning and Demand Forecasting:

- Lead the material planning function, ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet operations and customer demand. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Finance team to develop accurate demand forecasts and align supply chain activities accordingly.
- Implement and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to optimize delivery schedules and inventory levels. Analyze and report on key supply chain metrics, such as lead times, fill rates, and inventory turnover, to drive continuous improvement.

5. Leadership and Team Development:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set explicit objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support professional growth.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with other departments, including production, sales, finance, and quality, to ensure alignment and support business goals.

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or equivalent).
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related discipline preferred.

Experience

- 15+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Logistics, and Inventory Management.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in Renewable Energy, Wind Energy, Power, Infrastructure, EPC, Industrial Services, Manufacturing, or Heavy Engineering sectors preferred.
