We are looking for an experienced Head of Product Development to lead the complete product development function—from concept and design through prototyping, testing, certification and commercial production.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Product Design & Development / R&D; team.
- Drive new product development from concept → design → prototype → testing → certification → production.
- Independently evaluate product concepts, technical feasibility, development timelines and resources.
- Guide engineers in mechanical/electromechanical product design and development.
- Review and approve 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications and design documentation.
- Lead prototype development, product testing, validation and design improvements.
- Ensure products comply with applicable BIS, ISO, EN and other international standards.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, vendors and external laboratories for successful product development and launch.
- Establish and improve product development processes, design controls and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation, cost reduction, performance improvement and design optimisation.
- Manage multiple development projects and ensure timely completion as per agreed milestones.
- Support transfer of successfully developed products from R&D; to commercial production.

Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering,



Mechatronics or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product design and development, with significant experience in a leadership role.
- Must have proven experience of independently leading and successfully commercialising multiple products.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of CAD/design software, engineering drawings, prototyping and product testing.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling and assembly.
- Working knowledge of BIS, European and international product standards.
- Strong project management, problem-solving and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work hands-on while also providing technical and strategic direction to the team.

Significant Requirement Candidates should be able to share details of products they have previously developed, including:

- Product name/type and application
- Their specific role in the development
- Design and development approach
- Prototype and testing experience
- Applicable standards/certifications
- Manufacturing/production involvement
- Whether the product was successfully commercialised

We are specifically looking for a product-development leader with a proven track record of taking products from an initial concept to a successful commercial product. Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
