- Introduce students to diverse Indian and global artistic traditions and contemporary performance practices.
2. Pedagogy & Student Learning
- Champion experiential, studio-based, and performance-led learning that encourages creative risk-taking.
- Use formative assessment and documentation to recognise process, growth, collaboration, and artistic development.
- Create meaningful learning pathways for both beginners and advanced performers, fostering student agency and voice.

- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the Performing Arts faculty across disciplines through regular lesson observations and feedback.
- Establish a collaborative culture of lesson planning, rehearsal, reflection, and professional learning.
4. Productions, Performances & Showcases
- Provide artistic direction for school productions, annual showcases, concerts, and student performances via a structured annual calendar.
- Guide students and faculty through auditions, casting, rehearsals, choreography, staging, and production planning.
5. Creative Culture & External Partnerships
- Build a visible school-wide performing arts culture, nurturing student-led clubs, ensembles, bands, and theatre groups.
- Establish relationships with professional artists, cultural institutions, and creative organisations to bring masterclasses and residencies to the school.
6. Spaces, Resources & Budget
- Manage the Performing Arts budget responsibly, overseeing music rooms, studios, rehearsal spaces, and performance areas.
- Procure appropriate equipment,
instruments, costumes, and technical resources while maintaining strict safety and safeguarding protocols.
Desired Candidate Profile

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Theatre, Dance, Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 8–12+ years of relevant experience, including leadership/management experience in an educational institution.
- Skills: Strong expertise in at least one performing arts discipline with broad appreciation across others; excellent curriculum design, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a progressive, experiential, or inquiry-led school environment (IB/Cambridge exposure is a plus).
- Demonstrated track record of qualified performance, choreography, production, or working with external cultural institutions.
Leadership Attributes We Value
- Artistically strong, creatively curious, and student-centred.
- Comfortable challenging conventional approaches and balancing artistic ambition with educational purpose.
- Inclusive, highly organised, and a natural culture-builder and mentor.
What the Role Offers
- Significant creative and pedagogical ownership to shape the school's performing arts vision.
- An opportunity to build a high-performing team and a vibrant school-wide performance culture.
