Position: Head – HEMM

Job Purpose

Lead the HEMM function to ensure safe, reliable, productive and cost-effective operation and maintenance of all Heavy Earth Moving Machinery.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage overall HEMM fleet operations, maintenance and deployment.
- Ensure high equipment availability, utilisation and productivity.
- Plan and monitor preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
- Minimise equipment downtime, MTTR and recurring failures.
- Control fuel, tyre, spare-parts and maintenance costs.
- Ensure achievement of production and equipment-performance targets.
- Monitor HEMM KPIs including availability, utilisation, MTBF, MTTR, fuel efficiency and cost/tonne.




- Ensure compliance with mining safety, statutory and OEM requirements.
- Lead HEMM teams, contractors and OEM/service partners.
- Drive digitalisation, fleet monitoring and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Conduct RCA for major failures and implement continuous improvement.

Qualification & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
- 10–15+ years of relevant experience in mining HEMM operations, and OEM maintenance.
- Solid experience of Surface and UG HEMM.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, cost-management and problem-solving skills.
