THE ROLE
This is a builder's mandate with solid execution ownership .
The successful candidate will be expected to work hands-on during the initial phase, strengthening the HR foundation across organization structure, talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, HR systems, employee engagement, and governance.
The role will require someone who is comfortable operating in a founder-led environment, understands the dynamics of a high-growth retail business, and can introduce qualified processes while preserving the organization's culture and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strengthen and evolve the enterprise-wide HR function , including structure, policies, processes, systems, and governance.
- Develop organization design and workforce plans aligned with the company's growth strategy and expanding store network.
- Lead talent acquisition strategy for rapid, pan-India hiring across retail, corporate, and leadership functions.
- Build scalable frameworks for performance management, compensation & benefits, career progression, and employee engagement .
- Develop leadership capability,
succession planning, and talent pipelines across retail and corporate functions.

- Partner closely with founders, promoters, and the senior leadership team on organization and people-related priorities.
- Establish and strengthen HR technology / HRIS infrastructure to support a growing, multi-location workforce.
- Strengthen HR governance, compliance, policies, and processes appropriate for a listed and rapidly expanding organization.
- Build effective HR practices for a geographically distributed retail workforce, including store-level talent, frontline productivity, retention, and engagement.
- Develop employer branding and employee value proposition initiatives as the organization expands its national footprint.
- Provide leadership on key people initiatives during a period of significant organizational and business transformation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience , with significant experience leading the HR function at a business, regional, or enterprise level.
- Experience at Head HR / AVP HR / VP HR / CHRO / equivalent senior HR leadership level .
- Proven experience in building, transforming, or significantly scaling HR functions , rather than only managing an established HR operation.
- Strong experience in retail, jewellery, luxury, consumer, FMCG, or other multi-location businesses is preferred.
- Track record of supporting rapid business and store/network expansion across multiple geographies.
- Experience working with founders, promoters, family-owned businesses, or promoter-led organizations undergoing professionalization.
- Strong understanding of talent acquisition, organization design, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, leadership development, and HR governance.
- Exposure to listed-company processes, governance, and compliance will be an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with founders, business leaders, and frontline teams.
- Graduate degree required; Master's/MBA in HR or a related discipline preferred.
- Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in a build-and-scale environment .
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Builder and change leader rather than a purely process-driven HR administrator.
- Comfortable working in a founder-led and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong business orientation with an understanding of how HR impacts growth, productivity, retention, and profitability .
- Able to balance professionalization with respect for the organization's legacy, culture, and values.
- High ownership, maturity, discretion, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable being hands-on while simultaneously building a team and scalable HR infrastructure.
WHY JOIN

- Direct partnership with founders and senior leadership.
- Significant influence on organization design, talent strategy, culture, and leadership development.
- Opportunity to shape the people function of a high-growth, multi-location consumer business .
- Be part of the organization's journey from a successful legacy business toward a professionally managed, nationally scaled enterprise.
